There are plenty of wonderful vases in the world to display your bouquets. But let's be honest, the flowers themselves are where it's at. So why not upcycle some objects you already own to display those stems?

When it comes to floral arrangements, i rarely think about buying cut orchids. My potted orchids usually last for months (and I've been lucky enough to have one blooming continuously for 16 months!). Still, the blooms are absolutely gorgeous, and I can see the appeal of cut orchids.

Since I'm not a huge fan of tiki torches or citronella candles, I think I'll play it safe this summer and get a set of these modern lights for my backyard parties. While I would never advocate picking flowers out of a freshwater lake (especially if it's a rare plant), if you have a backyard pond or fountain, it would be wise to cultivate some water flowers to use for an unusual bouquet or arrangement. Can you imagine how stunning a bouquet of water flowers would look at a lakeside wedding?

There's a reason Sofia Coppola keyed the palette of her film Marie Antoinette around a box of French macarons: the feminine pastel tones are simply chic and utterly delightful.
So, why not think inside the box and forgo a traditional bouquet for your flower girls in favor of an arrangement of macarons? Your little flower girls will be engaged by the sweet pastries, and your guests intrigued.
