Angelina and Brad May Be Fiona and Shrek Someday

Angelina Jolie graces yet another magazine cover, this time it's Italian Vanity Fair, and as usual the topic at hand is her family and their six kids. While most of you are looking forward to seeing Changeling, it's still the most thrilling to get a glimpse into the Jolie-Pitt life and plans for the future. Here are highlights from the interview:

On working: "The kids are my priority, so it's possible that from now on I will make fewer movies. I may even stop altogether . . . I no longer have the ambition I had in my 20s."
On her younger wild days: "In reality my life is a lot more chaotic and adventurous now. Brad [Pitt] and I pilot airplanes, we travel non-stop, we go to difficult places and we have chosen to do it taking all of the kids with us . . . I feel a lot braver now than when I was an angry young woman."
On traveling so much: "Sure I am still restless, but do you know that my kids are the same way? We were in France these last few months and after a while they started asking when we could get back on a plane . . . I want them to be able to walk through a marketplace in Adis Ababa and not bat and eye, not think it is dirty and ugly, but that it just represents another part of the world and humanity."
On marriage: "Usually people fall in love and everything revolves around the ritual of marriage, children are an afterthought. We did everything backwards . . . But sooner or later it will be the kids who ask us [to get married]. You know, they see films and start asking questions. Such as, 'Why are Shrek and Fiona married and you're not?' "

While we've yet to see Angelina take an extended break from work, the Jolie-Pitts always find a way to spend lots of time with their children and show them the world. She still has a few projects in the work, but at the moment it's off to Berlin for the family while Brad perfects his mustache acting.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Just Married?!

Star Magazine is reporting that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were married today in New Orleans while Brad's rep is saying she has "no idea" if the couple really did walk down the aisle. If this is true it comes as super exciting and surprising news considering what Brad has said about marriage in the past. More details as they come but in the mean time congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Pitt?!

Update - People reports that a source close to the couple says there was no wedding today.

Angelina Talks About Brad, Jen and Her Family

Angelina has never really spoken about falling in love with Brad and how their relationship developed. For the first time she is telling all about meeting him on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, falling in love and the life they share with their three kids. She is also speaking a bit about meeting Jen. Here's more:

"Not as exciting as what a lot of people would like to believe," Jolie said. "We spent a lot of time contemplating and thinking and talking about what we both wanted in life and realized that we wanted very, very similar things."

"And then we just continued to take time. We remained very, very good friends - with this realization - for a long time," she added.

"And then life developed in a way where we could be together, where it felt like something we would do, we should do."

Jolie said she has only briefly met Aniston and would gladly sit down with her - but only of the "Friends" star asked to do so.

"I did [once meet Aniston], but it was not a proper meeting. We've, like, passed each other and said 'hi' briefly, shook hands. But not a real sit-down-and-talk kind of meeting," Jolie said.

"That would be her decision [for a long sit-down], and I would welcome it."

In her first in-depth words about life as half of Tinseltown's first couple, Jolie tells Vogue magazine she never wanted to ruin Pitt's marriage to actress Jennifer Aniston - it just happened that way.

"I didn't know much about exactly where Brad was in his personal life [when they met on the set of "Smith"]. But it was clear he was with his best friend, someone he loves and respects," Jolie said in a revealing interview in the magazine's January issue.

"And so we were both living, I suppose, very full lives."

Jolie said she was committed to life as a single mom when she was paired with Pitt in the espionage action flick.

"Brad was a huge surprise to me," she said. "I, like most people, had a very distant impression of him from . . . the media.

"I think we were the last two people who were looking for a relationship. I certainly wasn't," she said. "I was quite content to be a single mom."

The "Tomb Raider" babe admitted she was thrilled working with Pitt every day while shooting "Smith" in 2003 and 2004.

"Because of the film, we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened. I think a few months in I realized, 'God, I can't wait to get to work,' " she said.

"Whether it was shooting a scene or arguing about a scene or gun practice or dance class or doing stunts - anything we had to do with each other, we just found a lot of joy in it together and a lot of real teamwork. We just became kind of a pair."

While Jolie adamantly insisted she and Pitt were not seeking to pair up, the pouty-lipped bombshell confessed they were tempted to make more of what they had.

"And it took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realize that it might mean something more than we'd earlier allowed ourselves to believe," Jolie said. "And both knowing that the reality of that was a big thing, something that was going to take a lot of serious consideration."

Jolie said she and Pitt remained "very, very good friends" after shooting "Smith." They were resigned to staying nothing more than pals, Jolie said, until Pitt and Aniston announced their breakup in early 2005.

Pitt and Aniston filed for divorce that spring, amid rampant reports that the Hollywood hunk had his eye on Jolie the whole time.

Vogue didn't directly press Jolie on whether she and Pitt fooled around behind Aniston's back. But Jolie said she realized, early on, that she shared a deep, emotional bond with Pitt before they formally hooked up post-Aniston.

Jolie said she doesn't plan to marry Pitt, but they're committed to raising their boy and two girls.

She gave birth to their daughter, Shiloh, earlier this year, after adopting Maddox from Cambodia in 2002 and taking in Zahara from Ethiopia in 2005.

"We both have been married before, so it's not marriage that's necessarily kept some people together.

"We are legally bound to our children, not to each other, and I think that's the most important thing," she said.

Jolie said she hasn't spoken to her dad, actor Jon Voight, for five years.

Although she keeps up with mom Marcheline Bertrand, Jolie said she doesn't allow many people into her inner circle.

"I don't trust anyone," Jolie admitted.

"I don't think it's a good thing. This is going to make you think that maybe I should get some therapy, but trust is such a bizarre word. I'd like to say that I trust my mother, but I also don't know if she might do something that she thinks is in my best interest.

Still, "I trust Brad will never do anything," she said.

But after a few moments, Jolie then added, "I don't know. I don't trust anybody completely."

Jolie said she won't wear emotions on her sleeve - because it wouldn't do her any good.

"It's not going to accomplish anything to cry. It's not going to help you to get a hug!" she said.

"I'm not a hugger. People make fun of me. It's something that I have a hard time with. If someone hugs me, I hold my breath. Snuggling, cuddling, hugging, crying . . . all that stuff makes me very uncomfortable."

Except when it comes to her kids, the star said.

"Oh, I love hugging my kids," she quickly added. "It's a different thing because you feel such a genuine grab from them."

The actress, once married to Hollywood bad-boy Billy Bob Thornton, conceded that she once lived life too close to the edge.

That all changed once she had children.

"I'm committed to the future now," Jolie said. "I'm committed to life. I think definitely before my son, I was a little nihilistic. But once I adopted Mad [Maddox], I knew I was never going to be intentionally self-destructive again."

"I'm starting to be able to see being 50 years old with the kids graduating from high school."

Vogue's glossy, 14-page spread on Jolie includes several shots by famed celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The 31-year-old Jolie managed to ooze sexuality in the magazine package, even as she showed off her passion for motorcycles and flying in the unforgiving California desert.

She's in the upcoming Robert De Niro spy thriller, "The Good Shepherd," starring alongside Matt Damon.

The flick premiered at the Ziegfeld Theater in Midtown last night, and she and Pitt immediately stole the show as soon as they hit the red carpet.

Jolie's next big flick will be portraying the wife of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl in "A Mighty Heart." It was a role that Aniston had once said she would "love" to play.

Jolie said it was her children - basically Maddox - who ultimately cemented her relationship with Pitt as a family.

One day, Maddox "just out of the blue called him Dad," she said. "It was amazing. We were playing with cars on the floor of a hotel room, and we both heard it and didn't say anything and just looked at each other.

"So that was probably the most defining moment, when he decided that we would all be a family," she said.

Jolie said that in addition to Pitt being a great dad, he has a "wicked sense of humor" and, "He's a great challenge to me."

"We're constantly in competition with each other," she said. "He's somebody I admire based on the way he lives his life."

Angelina Bares Her Soul For Vanity Fair

We already saw Angelina Jolie's Vanity Fair cover starring her cleavage, but now we've got a look inside the issue. Angie plays it up with different wigs, but there's also no shortage of sex appeal from these photos. In the issue, she doesn't seem to hold anything back about her kids, her relationship with Brad, and how she's been affected by her mother's death. Here are highlights:

On her relationship with Brad: “People have made a lot out of it that we’re not. But we both have been married before, and it’s very easy to get married, but it’s not easy to build a family and be parents together. And maybe we’ve done it backwards, but we certainly feel married.”
On naming her daughter Shiloh: “It’s a biblical name, but we didn’t name her for that. It was a name my parents almost named their first child-there was a miscarriage: Shiloh Baptist. Because my father had been shooting in Georgia and that was the most southern name [my parents] could come up with. It’s a name I always liked. I used to go under it in hotels: Shiloh Baptist. I’d gone under it when [Brad] called hotel rooms where I was staying.”
On her mother's passing: "When [my mother] passed, I realized that somebody who lives life with that kind of dedication to their family is the most noble. I was aware of it growing up. I admired her. And I loved her. But in her passing she reminded me what matters. And what’s most fun-to put yourself aside for these other little people you’re raising.”
On religion: “Brad got me this great thing for Christmas. It’s a bookshelf that has a book on every religion. That’s how we plan to raise our kids. Teach them about all religions. They can pick one or be a student of all of them. We’ll celebrate Kwanzaa for our girl. We’ll celebrate moon and water festivals for our boys. We’ll take them to temples in certain countries. Also to church.”

On why she chose to do Wanted: "Because I had just done A Mighty Heart and was scheduled to do Changeling, which is about the kidnapping of a child. And I had lost my mom. And I knew I was in this odd, fuzzy state going from one loss and kidnapping to another loss and kidnapping. Then Wanted came along. It’s about being physical and jumping and running and being violent, and instinctively I knew I needed to do that.”
On teaching Maddox about death: “Mad always knew my mom was sick. So when it happened, I sat him down and I told him how some people believe there’s a heaven where everybody goes and is together again. And they believe it’s very white and beautiful. And some believe-he’d just seen Casper-there are ghosts who are people and they are always around. And some believe it’s a long peaceful sleep. When I told him, and I was crying, ‘Grand-mère died today, we won’t be able to see her anymore, but she’ll always be around,’ he said, ‘Like she’s here now? Like she’s in that chair?’ And I said, ‘Well, I suppose she could be.’ And he accepted it. It’s funny. It’s like we teach kids the things that we want to believe. Then we see that they have such beautiful faith and it helps them go to bed and we’re in the other room not sleeping well.”
On sharing a love of philanthropy with Brad: “This was actually one of the things that brought us together. Though he wasn’t as publicly active, I found him to be very aware of the world, very curious, very compassionate. In his private way, he had been doing a lot. When we met, we realized our common goals were that we both wanted to be involved in the world and see what we could do. We have similar interests but different approaches. He’s more involved in rebuilding New Orleans, environmental issues, green sustainability. I am more refugees. But when it comes to common goals-orphans, orphans’ rights, children-we support each other. It brings us together and makes our relationship work.”
On meeting Brad: “After my last divorce, I said I was absolutely going to marry somebody in another field, an aid worker or something. Then I met Brad, everything I wasn’t looking for, but the best man, the best father I could possibly wish for, you know? I don’t see him as an actor. I see him very much as a dad, as somebody who loves travel and architecture more than being in movies.”

Angelina also gushed about what a gifted architect Brad is, and apparently she's not the only one who thinks so - he's going to show off more of his skills by designing an eco-friendly hotel in Dubai. It's Brad's Turn to Praise the Jolie-Pitts and His Projects

Before Brad Pitt took Angelina Jolie to the premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button we saw him filming an interview for The Today Show in New Orleans, which aired this morning. Brad spoke about the success of his Make It Right program and what it was like meeting the specific families that have already moved in. The actor also spoke about his own family dynamic and the possibility of marriage as he continued on the Jolie-Pitt tradition of talking up his children.

On why he doesn't like talking about his family: "I just walk away feeling bad about it when I do. There's no way to give it true validity and weight and what it means to you in your life. and it seems to get cheapened somehow as it goes through the filter and the airwaves. Some things you just want to keep close to the chest."
On his family: "I will say this - I'm really proud of this family. I look at my sons and daughters. ... It's a rich home, I feel rich being around them. Each one offers so much to the mix. Surprisingly though, six kids is not as easy as you would think."
On whether he'll marry Angelina: "If we feel it's important to our kids we'll do so."

Brad seems a little more standoffish about talking about his family this time around, but he still takes a moment to glow about his kids. After the interview, Anne seemed relieved to reveal that Brad's mustache is just for his new movie, and we do hope he isn't getting too attached to it.

See what happens when I travel - babies are born and big news is announced. People reports that Brad Pitt is officially adopting Maddox and Zahara. Angelina and Brad may not be married yet, but theier new big shot publicist is setting the groundwork. The first step, Brad getting serious about those kids he loves to hold. Good for him and his new instant famly. Here's what People reported:

Brad Pitt has started the process to adopt Angelina Jolie's two kids, the actor's publicist informed the Associated Press on Friday.

A legal petition seeking to change the names of the children to Zahara Jolie-Pitt and Maddox Jolie-Pitt was filed in Los Angeles, publicist Cindy Guagenti said in a written statement.

"We are confirming that Brad Pitt is in the process of becoming the adoptive father of both children," the statement said. "No further comment is being made."

I think the wedding must be coming soon after this. Stay Tuned. Even though this picture is old, it's my favorite of the new Pappa.

Brad and Angelina Tying the Knot?

Here we go again.... have Brad and Angelina changed their ideas about marriage? The couple has gone on record saying that they aren't going to get married until everyone in the country can. Well, gay marriage may not be legal yet but rumor has it Brad and Angelina are getting married anyway. According to reports, they are planning a Christmas wedding in a small village outside Johannesburg. Here's more:

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are planning a fairytale Christmas wedding in South Africa. The Hollywood couple will tie the knot in a small village outside Johannesburg, according to reports in the US. Sources say they were persuaded to pick the venue after talking to chat show queen Oprah Winfrey.

An insider said: "They are treating their marriage like a spiritual affirmation and don't need big Hollywood glitz like Tom Cruise had in Italy." The ceremony will include traditional African music and will be "simple and elegant", a friend of the couple told US magazine OK!

It comes after Jolie and Winfrey have grown close after the TV host was impressed by Jolie's humanitarian efforts. She is said to have told her: "When you have the chance to capture lightning in a bottle you need to go for it." The pal said: "Ange is grateful to have a big sister in Oprah, a person who understands her fears of commitment but is also a kindred spirit."

Winfrey, 52, is expected to be among several stars attending the low-key event, shortly before Christmas....Madonna, her husband Guy Ritchie, actor George Clooney and Jolie's co-star Daniel Craig are also said to be going.

We're not sure if we're buying this story. Brad and Angelina have been pretty adamant about not getting married. But they could have had a change of heart. And at least they are inviting Oprah to their wedding after she was snubbed twice by Tom and Katie.
