Looking for a quick, portable, homemade breakfast? I found a kid friendly recipe, and with a few tweaks made something that my whole family loves. The recipe is simple but the flavor of these bars is delish.

As much as I enjoy hosting dinner parties, I also love having friends over for a casual, relaxed breakfast.
There's no better way to welcome close ones into your home than with the savory, cheesy smell of an oven-baked strata. This layered dish of bread, eggs, cheese, meat, and vegetables is not only crave-worthy, comforting breakfast food at its best, but, as a casserole, it's also a great timesaver — forget making custom batches of scrambled eggs!

My sweetheart's favorite weekend mornings begin with a hearty, comforting meal. That's why, when I came across this breakfast pastry, I knew I had to make it. The tart has all the familiar trappings of breakfast (bacon, eggs, flaky pastry) married with gourmet ingredients (crème fraîche, Gruyère) and assembled in an elegant, rustic way.

I've had Autumn on the brain for weeks now, but it wasn't until I received an inquiry about a faithful pumpkin bread recipe that the aromatic, spiced bread crossed my mind. Yet as soon as it did, I found myself craving a loaf of it. There was only one thing to do.

Brunch is an ideal time to throw a bridal shower. The female-only event is normally hosted by a nonfamily member or the maid of honor. If you're invited to a bridal shower, it's customary to bring a gift.

I'm finally getting around to paying my respects to National Panini Month, while also fulfilling a sandwich promise I made to myself not long ago. After being disappointed by The Sentinel's pork and fig sandwich that didn't actually contain figs, I pressed together this panino before fig season bids its sad farewell.
When I came up with the "fruit and nut" idea, I thought: this could be terrible.

A few weeks back, I told you about my poor hard working friend Kathleen. She is amazingly fabulous, but has a super long work day so we don't get to hang out much. She commutes and catches the bus at the way-too-early time of 6:52 am and she doesn't make it home until 7pm!

When hosting a baby shower, be sure to consult the mother-to-be before selecting a menu. Her appetite may have changed, so ask her what she wants to enjoy at the party. My pal Denise has requested a delicious spread of savory brunch dishes.

The other day I had a sudden, strong craving for an egg sandwich, so I headed to 'Wichcraft with the onion frittata in mind. A brilliantly constructed breakfast sammie, it uses precooked frittata and incredibly fresh ciabatta, so it's not at all messy. The combination of white cheddar, Parmesan, and slow roasted tomatoes creates a rich, multifaceted flavor that's almost — but just almost — too bold.

Cooking when you don't have all the ingredients on hand can be frustrating, but it can also be empowering: Since you have to think on your feet, some of the most successful outcomes are born out of limited circumstances.
