Don't give the baby a bottle, it will cause nipple confusion! Prior to having a baby, the concept of "nipple confusion" is one that most mamas think is reserved for regulars at Hooters. But once a lil one arrives, friends and family will have plenty of advice about the best time to introduce bottles and pacifiers to a breastfed baby.

Breast may be best, but what about bonding with daddy? Breastfeeding provides a baby with countless benefits, it has been known to help mama lose weight, ward off cancer and establish an early bond with her newborn. Yet, all of this closeness may sideline pop so take some time to ensure that he creates an early connection with baby too.

While the images of the death and destruction in Haiti have spurred an outpouring of support for the devastated nation, they are also re-igniting the never-ending debate about the best way to feed a baby. Since the catastrophic earthquake hit, many relief agencies have sent out email, Facebook and Twitter requests for baby formula, bottles and nipples to help nourish the littlest ones affected by the disaster. With so many wee ones orphaned in the wake of the tragedy, the call for food seemed natural.

Even supermodels can feel like the leaning tower of Pisa when nursing. As most breastfeeding moms can attest, everything isn't necessarily symmetrical once baby is done feeding. While some babies favor one breast, most lactating women also find that they produce more milk on one side than the other, leaving mama feeling a bit lopsided between nursing sessions.

Breastfeeding is hard work for a mama. It requires encouragement and dedication and even a few remedies to get through the initial discomfort. It's stressful enough that you may want a martini (that is, if you pump and dump) but would you down an alcohol free drink in the name of milk production?
