Cole Haan has just launched a beautiful bridal collection boasting its famous Nike Air technology. That means you'll be able to dance the night away without swelling toes and blistering feet. Cool. The line currently stocks eight styles, ranging from peep-toe pumps to embellished slingbacks, all made in silk satin. However, the collection is not cheap. Prices retail from $298 to $428, but with Cole Haan's "dye to black" service, you can wear your cushiony heels well after your wedding day. Interested? I know it's supposed to be all about the blushing bride's fabulous gown on her wedding day. But we're experiencing a resurgence in the power of accessories, so why not add a little flair to the matrimony mix? It can be as simple as white opera gloves or as dramatic as a Carrie Bradshaw-inspired bright yellow flowered pin. The rules are waiting to be broken, and you're the bride - it's your prerogative. Rebecca Minkoff Expands Her Empire

There's more reason to love cutie Rebecca Minkoff now that she's adding a capsule clothing collection and accessories line to her repertoire. Rebecca also updated her website to include Minkette.com, a place where she shares a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her inspiration, exclusive video footage, insider tips on some of her favorite spots, and invites to cool parties around town. Rebecca's small accessories line, available this holiday, will include belts and bracelets. Her capsule collection will debut in Fall '10. Future brides can look forward to an affordable (ranging between $195-215) customized bridal bag collection called I Do in September. The site has just launched a cool wedding boutique and it's filled with beautiful offerings for everyone in the bridal party. Each category - bridal, bridesmaid, mother of the bride, and guest - provides an in-depth selection of designer dresses and accessories. Think of it as an upscale online bridal salon minus the frumpy frocks. Oh, the service doesn't stop there. Net-a-Porter's wedding boutique also includes a decadent lingerie and honeymoon section. If you think you were busy this year, wait until you see how many designers expanded their businesses in 2008. Hint: It took me a crazy long time to round them all up. Majors like Diane von Furstenberg, Alexander Wang, and Stella McCartney added more to their plates, as did smaller brands such as Members Only and Paige Denim. Fab's Guide to Finding the Perfect Dress to Say "I Do" In

Hello, bride-to-be. I'm Fab, your personal wedding dress shopper! Whether you have three months or twelve to shop for your dream dress, here is a guide to help you look your most beautiful, and keep your sanity. You be the bride and I'll be your guide . . .

First things first: determine your wedding style and budget. Close your eyes and try to picture your big day. Is the ceremony ethereal outside on a beach? Or more formal inside a formal church? Or is it something in between? You'll want a wedding gown that fits your picture. Choose something light and airy if you'll be beachside and something more lavish if you'll be in a church. If you're going the church route, remember to cover up with a shawl or bolero as you want to respect the dress code of the establishment. The most important thing is to set a budget so you don't go ga ga over a dress that's out of your price range!

Remember that the season could determine the style of your dress, but it doesn't have to. It's your wedding, so you make the rules. If you're in love with an open-back dress for your Winter wedding, you can always pair it with a shawl for warmth. If your wedding is in the Summer but you love a long-sleeve lace gown, go for it (just wear lots of deodorant!)
Once you've decided on your ceremony style and budget, you'll need inspiration. Go out and buy all of the weddings magazines on the stand and start ripping away. Create a wedding dress file - I suggest something special like this Peppercot Accordion File Tote ($24). This file will also come in handy later in life, I promise.
There is an insane amount of dress styles to choose from (classic, retro, modern, color, etc) but my favorite trends now are bows, embellishments, and short lengths. I will show you more of these dress styles in depth later, but for starters here are the the options I'd explore were it my wedding.

While you are gathering your gown file, ask your wedding planner or married friends for suggestions of dress salons near you. Also peruse online wedding sites like Wedding Channel and Brides. Brides has a handy dandy glossary you'll appreciate. The most important thing to remember is timing. Special-order gowns can take three to six months to create, and alterations can take weeks, so plan accordingly.
Now that it's time to go gown shopping, it's important to dress appropriately. You want to wear loose fitting clothes that are easy to get in and out of - but don't dress like a slob. It's also good to have your hair either pulled back or down, depending on how you'll have it on the actual day. Bring comfortable shoes with the heel height you plan to wearing. Throw a strapless bra into your purse and try to wear pretty underthings - you will be standing around in them in front of your shopping buddies and salesperson.
Once you are assigned a salesperson, go through your tear sheets with them and point out what you like about dresses and special details you love. When you try on dresses, continue to point out your likes and dislikes.
Keep an eye out for quality. In a high-quality gown every detail should have a perfect finish - no bead or string should be unraveled. Natural fabrics like silk are pricier than synthetics, but the benefits are they let your skin breathe and don't trap sweat. A-line gowns fall smoothly and prevent panty lines; this is also the best shape for fuller figures. If you do have budget constraints, skip beading and fancy details and focus on a fine fabric and a good fit - you can always dress yourself up with jewelry and beauty!
The finishing touches. Take into account the following elements surrounding your look: alterations, headpiece/veil, lingerie, jewelry, shoes, bag, a cover up, and the groom's ensemble. Oh, and the bridesmaids. Lastly, two weeks before your wedding, have a final dress fitting with your accessories and lingerie, and break in your shoes by wearing them at home. GiggleSugar Reader Spotlight: Suzanne

Suzanne is one of GiggleSugar's top talkers and a dynamo on wheels. (That picture below of her with comedian/talk show host Craig Ferguson occurred when she sneaked out of her daughter's bridal rehearsal dinner to attend a book signing so she could meet him. Ha!) She's a riot. Be sure to check out her image gallery at the end of the interview.

GS: What is your motto? Suzanne: “Don’t waste your stress!!! You might really need it someday” - which is my way of saying that some things might seem like they’re going to be a big problem, but in the end they may turn out to be nothing at all… so don’t stress until you actually know you have to!

GS: Where are you from? Suzanne: We Rhode Islanders must be a barrel of laughs, because, like Moni B, I’m from Rhode Island too… born and raised in Providence… Ha! How random is that!

GS: What do you do? Suzanne: My kids always said it was a trick question when they had to fill out forms and say what Mom did. I started out as a registered nurse, then got a job writing and photographing for a newspaper. After that, I was a relocation assistant. My job was to convince executives they’d like to live in Birmingham, AL. We loved it! That was one sweet job! Then I went back to nursing – rehab this time, then hemodialysis. I was not allowed to work when we lived in Paris. Woohoo! Now, I run a ladies’ accessory business that I started with three of my 4 children.

GS: How would you describe your sense of humor? Suzanne: Ridiculous, impulsive and out of control!

GS: What’s your favorite GiggleSugar post? Suzanne: Today’s… no really, I’m still laughing at the Nigerian Scam video. I get those emails every day. Who doesn’t!?! The letters are as dramatic as that video depicts. The letters themselves crack me up. They try to sound so real in their own broken English, terrible spelling, and atrocious grammar kinda way!

GS: Who’s the cutest funny man and woman? Suzanne: Heck, I don’t know!?! My grown kids--they always keep me laughing!

GS: Who are your favorite comedians? Suzanne: Now don’t laugh, but I really like Craig Ferguson. (GS: I have a major crush on him, Suzanne. We're going to have to fight for him!) Suzanne: I’ve liked his humor from the start. Well, maybe not when he was on Drew Carey, but on his late night show. I just find him funny! What can I say!? I like that he stood his ground to not bash Britney and I saw his kind heart the night he spent the entire monologue talking lovingly about his father who had just passed away. I also really like SNL’s Rachel Dratch. We saw her regularly when she was part of Chicago’s Second City’s main stage. We loved her humor then and still do now!

Fab Site: Bloomingdales.com Got a Facelift!

A long time web shopper, I have always been frustrated with Bloomingdales online. I never thought their site emulated the upscale look and selection Bloomies carries. To my surprise, the retailer has made an effort to refresh their face on the web. The new Bloomies has a black background, appears better organized than before, and has a more upscale allure. Check out the homepage:

They have joined other savvy retailers like Fab favorites Neiman Marcus and Net-a-Porter by drawing you in with a beautiful home page. New features include a Designer Spotlight (currently Tory Burch), The Trend Shop, and Spotlight On: Prom (where there are some great frocks!). You can then shop by Designers, Women, Shoes & Handbags, Beauty, Men, Home, Jewelry & Accessories, Kids, Sales & Values, Shop Catalogs, Bridal Registry and Gifts. The photography has improved too; it's not as catalogy and more high fashion.
