Love It or Hate It: Beyonce's Black Lipstick

OMG! I just caught the premier of the new Lady Gaga and Beyonce new Telephone video and it's amazing! There are crazy beauty moments in it. Lady Gaga sports hair in diet coke rollers and, in other scenes, she rocks custard yellow 1940s curly hair with major blue eyeshadow.

Beyonce has winged eyes with bright canary yellow eyeshadow and American flag print nails in one scene. In another, she works jet black lipstick paired with Dita Von Teese style forward rolled bangs. I thought she looked awesome – especially the black lipstick. In fact, they both wear lipstick at different stages in the video. It's not everyone's taste, but is certainly something new. What do you think – style triumph, or dud?

Lily Brightens Up A London Night Out

After holidaying with Kate Moss in Saint Tropez, and then playing a festival in Portugal, Lily Allen was showing off her glowing tan in London last night. She went out to eat at Quo Vadis, wearing a bright orange jacket and Chanel headband, with her familiar smear of sparkly eyeshadow on and around her eyes. After her fleeting visit to London, Lily's due to play a festival in Hungary today, before heading to Sweden, Norway and Finland for more live dates this week - what a busy lady!

Here's How to Wear Bright Green Eyeliner

Hi everyone, I have a huge cold and to hide my red nose, I did these eyes today. They're still perfect for school or work even though they are fairly bright, but they're also very, very easy. I used Laura Mercier Foundation Primer ($30), followed by a mixture of Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in 140 Soft Beige ($40) and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer ($42). I used Laura Mercier Undercover Pot ($34) in no. 3, which contains the Secret Camouflage and Secret Concealer as concealers, and the Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($20) to set everything.

On my eyes, I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($18). I used 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Graffiti, which I bought in the 24/7 Super Stash ($36). To set the liner, I used Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow in Graffiti ($18). I set it even though it's a waterproof liner because it's snowing outside and I'm sneezing and have a cold, so I needed some extra security. This also adds to the depth of the color. After this, I used my Bare Escentuals Buxom Lashes mascara and I was done.

All the excitement about such high pigment colors got me wondering, though: how bright are you willing to go with your eye shadow? Kate Hudson had a magical turn in the movie Nine this year, so it's no surprise that her beauty sings to me tonight. Her hair is both elegant and slightly California cool, but it's her makeup that wins me over. Her eyes are beautifully framed with shimmery eyeshadow, false lashes, and a perfectly penciled eyeliner. Her cheeks seem to shine just as bright, as do her slightly frosted pink lips. Clearly I'm girl-crushin'. Are you too?

Michael Kors Makes a Very Hollywood Cosmetics Line

Designer and Project Runway judge Michael Kors is getting pretty with a new color cosmetics collection that's due in January. The makeup line, which was created in collaboration with Estée Lauder, is part of the Very Hollywood brand and is designed to be the makeup equivalent of Michael's recently released perfume. The collection comes in two palettes, a pink and a beige-coral, with complementary blushes, sheer lip "sheens," and eyeshadow kits for each. I liked Very Hollywood perfume well enough, and this collection, given the bright colors and sheer tints, seems to be marketed toward a younger audience than Michael's usual fare, but I just don't know whether I need a Michael Kors pink blush when there are already a million gorgeous shades out there. What do you think? Are you excited for this designer beauty debut, or just kind of meh?
