The gorgeous girl did not even make the final selection last year so was skeptical about her chances, but claims her boyfriend gave her the boost she needed. Britain's Next Top Model is back! Lisa Snowdon returns for the fifth series in which twenty girls battle it out to win a contract with Models 1 and be the coverstar of Company magazine. The judging panel still includes photographer Huggy Ragnarsson who has now been joined by milliner Louis Mariette. The first episode (which aired on Monday at 9pm on Living) saw the girls attend bootcamp as the initial 20 were whittled down to just 13 hopefuls. Will you be watching series five?

Britain's Next Top Model: Are You Pleased With the Winner?

Seems that you Sugar readers know model requirements pretty well as back at the start of June when I asked you who would win, you predicted correctly! So last night the finale of season four of Britain's Next Top Model took place with the judges choosing between Stephanie, Catherine and Alex. Alex Evans, 18 was eventually crowned the winner at the final in Cape Town and has now won a contract with world renowned model agency, Models 1, a Max Factor cosmetics campaign, and a six-page cover spread in Company magazine.

The shows presenter Lisa Snowdon commented, “This girl just blossomed before my eyes. She’s always been one of the most interesting girls, she’s very special looking and all her pictures are fierce. The fashion world is her oyster."

Britain's Next Top Model: Part Two

Last night's episode of Britain's Next Top Model was all about poise and composure as the girls were required to walk on a catwalk for the first time and pose in a nightclub photo shoot. The catwalk seemed to be surprisingly difficult for some of the girls, surely they should have spent hours practicing the perfect walk in front of the mirror? After the initial test they were asked to walk in 7 inch Terry de Havilland heels which proved too much for Leanne who stumbled and eventually fell over. I felt bad for her as even Naomi Campbell has been guilty of that!

The nine best girls on the catwalk were selected to appear at The Forum nightclub hosted by Jodie Harsh to model paper dresses by Scottee. Everything seemed to go ok although the girls who weren't chosen stayed home and practiced knitting?!

The nightclub photoshoot saw the girls all being cast in to different roles although it seemed like the majority of them didn't quite get in to character. They were working with the stylist Gerry Deveaux who remained unimpressed with most of them.

Alex, Martha and Musayeron were accused of not giving enough to the photoshoot and being unconvincing with their required emotion.

The guest judge this week was shoe designer Terry de Havilland who featured throughout the episode. The panel's final decision was between Musayeron and Alex as they felt that they both did not give enough to the competition.

Alex was told by Lisa that she was beautiful but needed to work harder in front of the camera. The judges said they were struggling to see Musayeron's potential as a model. Eventually, Musayeron was asked to leave.

Britain's Next Top Model Part Four: Which Photo Do You Prefer?

Wow Monday night's episode of Britain's Next Top Model was a real surprise to me! I did not see that elimination coming. The standard of all the photos from the car photoshoot was pretty poor and I continue to be enraged by the number of wannabe models that complain that they can't walk in heels! Practice makes perfect ladies.

Congratulations to Charlotte who was the first of the girls to get a booking with Asos.com. However, it is these two photos from the main shoot which stood out to me. Martha has a very Lily Cole feel to me and this picture shows off her English rose looks perfectly. Aaron really struggled with getting out of the car but her final photo was a surprise to all. Which of these two photos do you prefer?

Britain's Next Top Model Part Three: Which Photo Do You Prefer?

The third part of the new series of Britain's Next Top Model saw the girls face new hair styles in an attempt to make-over the twelve remaining contestants. The wannabe models were then required to pose with dogs which was a problem for one of the girls who is scared of canines. The panel of judges decided that either Louise (right) or Lauren (left) had to go this week. Both their photos are below, but which do you think is better?
This week Louise was asked to leave which she thought was very unfair. You can see a video of Louise explaining her reasons here.

This week was the semi final of series four of Britain's Next Top Model. With just four girls left the competition is really heating up with no margin for error. The girls have travelled to South Africa where they were required to abseil down a mountain for an extreme sports clothing advert. Catherine received some help with the task from her partner-in-crime Alex, but do you think it was cheating?
