There has been lots of exciting news recently about who will be featured in the upcoming Spring 2010 ad campaigns. Claudia Schiffer is the face of Chanel, Natalia Vodianova is working with YSL, Georgia May Jagger is the new Versace star and it has now been reported that Daisy Lowe is working with Louis Vuitton.
The British model will appear in a swimwear press kit being shot this weekend in Miami.

In the wake of the British Fashion Council's Model Health Inquiry, which resulted in models under 16 being banned from the London catwalks, the airbrushed pages of magazines are now coming into question.
The British Fashion Council (BFC) wrote to the UK's Periodical Publishers Association (PPA) in December to suggest "a voluntary code covering the use of digital manipulation [in photography]." A BFC spokeswoman said that rather than limiting magazine's use of airbrushing, they would like to see a warning that the image had been altered instead.

Parents model behavior for their children, whether consciously or not. A recent survey conducted by British teen mag Sugar (no relation to the PopSugar Network) found that a dieting mother can have unfortunate consequences for daughters.
Out of the 512 girls surveyed, ages 12 to 18, six percent had an eating disorder; that number rose to one in 10 among girls with mothers who dieted.

Naomi Campbell has long pioneered ethnic diversity on the catwalk having received a boost to her own career from Yves Saint Laurent. The British born model was part of Italian Vogue's historic issue last Summer, but this weekend she spoke out about how there is still a great “injustice” within the fashion industry.
Speaking at the 4th Annual Thurgood Marshall College Fund Front Row Fashion Show she explained, “There is a small group of people whose minds we have to change because we are living in a multicultural society.”
Naomi added, “Nelson Mandela always told me to speak my mind and the consequences will take care of themselves.” She received a fashion icon award at the event which also honoured makeup artist Sam Fine, Oprah Winfrey’s hairstylist, Andre Walker and the late Michael Jackson.

The British Fashion Awards is one of the biggest dates in the fashion calendar. The awards celebrate everybody who is involved in the industry from designers to models. The date for 2009 has just been revealed by the British Fashion Council and it will take place on December 9th, at The Royal Courts of Justice, in London.

Last night, British model Lily Cole arrived at the Juicy Couture VIP Launch Party in London donning a darker red hair colour. This interesting and quite rich cherry-chestnut shade has a hint of purple, a hint of brown and a whole lot of fierce in it! Last week we saw Lily at the London Premiere of The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus, and a few days earlier in Paris with strawberry blonde hair.

Germany's most popular womens' magazine Brigitte has today announced controversial plans to ban professional models from its pages. The publication has made the move to stamp out size zero by replacing them with "real women". Editor-in-chief Andreas Lebert commented, "For years we've had to use Photoshop to fatten the girls up.
