I'm not normally a fan of bubble hems, but in fashion, there are always exceptions. This BCBG Max Azria Spring Bubble Skirt ($48, originally $128) is one of them. It's superior to all the other bubble skirts because the draping makes it less cheesy, more chic. Plus, the white color is fresh for now through Summer. Pairing it with a simple tank or tee would do; the skirt is charming and should be center of attention.

If you're sale shopping this month then be sure to look out for a bubble skirt. The unusual shape item is great for the Summer if you team with gladiator sandals and then even better in the winter with tights and brogues.

They appeared on the catwalk at Miu Miu and PPQ to name but a few. Bubble skirts look best worn high waisted with a blouse and heels.

It's quite easy to adjust an old skirt in to a bubble shape. Simply make a small cut in to the hem of the skirt and thread through elastic before securing with a stitch.

But this latest batch of outfits - two of them from Marc Jacobs's Fall '09 show - is the craziest yet. From London to Berlin, the bold singer has further pushed the envelope in bold shoulders, neon yellow, bubble skirts, and leather. 2009 Fall Couture: Christian Dior

Glamorous, and a touch garish, Galliano leads Couture week with a provocative showing at the Dior headquarters. Innerwear played a major role in this film noir. Corsets, garters, hose, slips, camis, and brassieres all hung out exhibiting a high-class peekaboo show. Classic lingerie hues like nude, black, and cream whispered alongside bold red, pink, chartreuse, leopard (and zebra) print, lavender, and juicy tangerine. Dramatic toppers, ladylike bags and fine jewels added to the highly feminine Dior aesthetic. Skirts were a favorite - tulip, sheer, bubble, tiered - and sometimes even absent. Dior still caters to the lady, but this lady's inner exhibitionist has risen.

Ruffly sandals have taken our feet by storm with their ultra girly statement. They're the perfect way to incorporate sweet interest to your bubble toes and look great with cutoff shorts or a simple skirt.
