We all know Wrigley's makes gum and Tiffany sells jewelry, but those brands didn't get going by selling their signature products. Many companies, including these two, started in markets much different from where they ended up. A little trial and error never hurt an entrepreneur; in fact, I'm pretty sure it almost always helps.

Most of you were pretty baffled when China's Spring Airlines announced it was considering selling standing-room seats on its planes, and the newest news in air travel might be just as jarring. Bank of America announced a new credit card that comes with, wait for it, a simple one-page explanation of terms and conditions. The BankAmericard Basic Visa card will be available in October and features a fixed rate tied to prime and a flat fee of $39 for late payments. Here's more:
- The fixed rate is equal to the prime rate plus a margin of 14 percent, and the rate is the same whether you're making a purchase or taking a cash advance.
- The rate isn't tied to a customer's payment history or credit rating like most credit cards.
- There are no fees for going over the credit card limit.
The BankAmericard Basic Visa card doesn't come with a decent interest rate any way you look at it — the APR surpasses 17 percent — but it seems like it might be an option for people who have had credit problems in the past.

There's a type of aggressiveness that's necessary for you to be successful on the street that translates (to a corporate environment). But in actual deals, it's almost the opposite because I already have that aura around me. So a lot of times, I disarm people by being extremely friendly.

A number of boutique companies have begun offering a vegetable garden as an added perk for their employees. A garden requires virtually no resources, yet it can bring in huge benefits for the company, such as an increase in office morale, a pronounced focus on worker health and wellness, and an edge over other competitors.
Minneapolis, MN-based branding agency Haberman invested $10,000 to set up a garden for its 30 employees.
