Finding the perfect exercise shoe is a tough challenge. Even though there are a couple brands I've had luck with, I always end up spending at least an hour trying on every type of sneaker made by every brand in the store, just to make sure I've found the best fit. Sometimes I even end up having to go to more than one store! Who has time for that every time you have to buy new sneaks, which for me is about every three months?

So I've started stocking up on a pair I really love. I'll buy sneakers I think are perfect, try it out for a couple of weeks, and if my feet are still happy, I go back to the store and buy one or two more pairs of the exact same sneaker. That way a new pair I know I already love is waiting for me when it's time to ditch my old pair. If you don't like buying the same pair because they look the same, companies usually make the same sneaker in a couple different colors. If you can't find them at the store, order them online, which can save you dough and a trip to the store. You can also create a sale alert notice for the shoes on ShopStyle. You might have to wait a while, but you'll save some dough too.

Give me an H-A-L-L-O-W-E-E-N! What's that spell? A couple of cheerleaders and a quarterback dressed up and ready to trick-or-treat. I bet John Moynahan and his impending sibling would cause quite a stir in these costumes! While the pom-pom girl ensemble can easily be made by pinning a felt letter on a pullover, stitching together a skirt and tying some fuzzy balls on sneakers. And a tot can be transformed into a footballer by sewing stuffed pantyhose "muscles" into a jersey, smearing a lil black makeup under his or her eyes and topping their noggin with a helmet, it takes even less time to find the outfits online. If you have a newborn, consider dotting two broken lines down a brown onesie or buying a football bunting. But, make sure no one tosses the pigskin!

Gear Review: Instant Arches

Running shoes feel great on my feet, but a woman cannot live in sneakers alone, so I have been looking for new ways to give my tired feet a little extra support. I found Instant Arches ($8), a comfy one-size-fits-all arch support. I literally stuck a pair into my flats - they have adhesive backing to keep the support in place. I wore the shoes all day, and like most days I logged a fair bit of walking miles. See how my feet felt at the end of the day when you read more.

My feet felt much happier having worn the Instant Arches in my shoes for the 10 hours I was in my flats. I suffer from very low arches and find most fashionable shoes don't provide enough support for the arch, but orthotics are too bulky for anything but an athletic shoe (plus they can be pricey). I found these arch supports easy to install; by peeling the protective layer back only halfway, you can fiddle with placement before completely sticking the support in the shoe. This means you cannot change the support from shoe to shoe, so buy a pair of Instant Arches for each pair of shoes that require some extra support. The adhesives mean you can add arch support to sandals and flip-flops - the least supportive shoes on the planet. You can buy Instant Arches online, at a discount when you buy five or more pairs.

Dear Fit,
I am interested in possibly getting an iPod or something similar to use when I work out. I never jumped on the whole iPod train in the first place because the idea of having to pick out songs doesn't appeal to me, since I don't really know what to pick. That's why I like Sirius satellite radio. It exposes me to new music and I don't have to do anything but turn it on. I'd definitely get an iPod to work out with IF there was some sort easy way to download suggested playlists for working out.

This is an awesome question since so many people love working out to music. With all the new technology out there, it's hard to know what will best suit your needs. You have two options:

Get an iPod nano - This tiny device can hold either 1,000 songs ($149) or 2,000 songs ($199). It's better to run with a nano rather than a regular iPod, since it uses flash memory and has no moving parts (regular iPods contain a mini hard drive that spins and jolting it around could cause damage). If you get a nano, you can copy all your own favorite music into the iTunes library on your computer, make playlists, and then put them on your nano. OR you can download Sport iMixes from iTunes (you have to buy them for around $15 a playlist).

Another cool thing about owning an iPod nano is that you can buy the Nike + iPod Sports Kit ($29). It comes with a receiver that attaches to your nano and a sensor you wear on your shoe. You can buy Nike + specific sneakers that hold the sensor or you can wear your fave sneakers and attach the sensor with this holder. Then when you run, it keeps track of the time, distance, speed and calories burned. You can even upload your runs to NikePlus.com and track your progress. I use it every time I run and it totally motivates me.
If you don't want to deal with your computer and downloading playlists, and you love Sirius radio, you can purchase portable Sirius radios to run with. The Stiletto 10 ($149.99) allows you to listen to live radio and it can store up to 10 hours of recorded programming. The Stiletto 100 ($199.99) offers a little bit more for your money. You can listen to live radio and store up to 100 hours of pre-recorded programs. You can also go online and purchase music that you can store on it. Sirius portable radios are great if you like your tunes to be a surprise. Just so you know though, after you buy the radio, you still need to pay around $13 a month for the service.

Those are two great options to help incorporate music into your workouts. Just make sure you choose something that will be easy to use and don't be afraid to ask for help. This technology stuff can be hard to figure out at first, but once you learn how, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

The French seem to have a flair for almost everything. (Well, except for that whole perpetual smoking thing.) Tretorns Make a Comeback

A sneaker-fashion staple throughout the 1980s and late '90s, the classic Tretorn Nylite tennis shoes were some of the coziest, most cushiony kicks of all time. Thanks to a soft terrycloth inner lining, you could wear them without socks, and it was always fun to see what new colors and patterns (like plaids and paisleys) would show up on the side-swoop insignia. Review: Cinda B Overnighter Bag

I needed a new gym bag desperately. I had been lugging around an extra backpack – swag my hubbie received at some random computer convention. Essentially, the bag wasn't that functional and had no personality either. After looking around at many uninspired classic gym bags, I went a little unconventional and chose a quilted bag by Cinda B. The Overnighter ($114) bag, the smallest in the Cinda B line of quilted luggage, is the perfect size for a gym bag. Aside from being totally cute, this bag is machine washable. Since I carry both my sneakers and post-workout clothes (read: sweaty) around in my gym bag, I am pleased that I can wash it when it starts to smell of sports funk. Plus the fabric is water and stain resistant. Two big pluses in my book.

The straps on the Overnighter bag are the perfect size for slipping over my shoulder, and they are lined with just a bit of ultra suede so the straps don't slide off my shoulder. The bag features a "big mouth" that opens wide and also expands the bag if you need extra room. The only downside is the bag has no extra internal pockets, but the two external pockets are helpful. They hold my goggles just fine. The bag is great for the beach, too.
