Banana Republic Debuts Its Leather Camera Bag

As far as I know, Banana Republic hasn't really been in the gadget accessory game, but all the same, I'm happy to see its (maybe) first: the new Leather Camera Bag.

At 11 inches by 13 inches by 4 inches, the size is big enough for your SLR, and it's nice, simple, but luxe looks nab it a spot in my roster of stylish SLR camera bags.

But it is also $148 - pretty pricey. Such is beauty, I suppose.

I have sung the praises of the HP Mini on a few occasions, and can't get enough of the netbook craze altogether. And although I love the mighty little machine, it does come with a certain disadvantage: it's so small you might lose it to the depths of your full-sized laptop bag. I know, I know, I shouldn't complain - the lighter the laptop means less shoulder strain for me. So I'm glad I found a bag that perfectly fits all my daily purse essentials, but leaves enough room for my Mini to tag along for the ride. And you wouldn't guess where I found it.

At $160 dollars, it's quite the investment, but I'm a sucker for soft gray leather. Sure, it's not a perfect example of a super safe and padded carrying vessel, but you already know I don't limit myself to those categorized as "laptop bags" to carry my machines around in anyway.

Kangaroom Media Bags Keep Your Gadgets Snuggled

I Am Dreaming of the Dreaming Camera Case

Oh, adorable camera bag, why aren't you big enough for my SLR? The shoulder strap would be perfect for toting around my big Canon, but considering the unbearably rad artwork of yes, another camera, on the front of this Dreaming Camera case ($40), I may get it anyway and give my little point-and-shoot some really special treatment. It gets carried around a bit more anyway, so this time the little guy's gonna come out on top.

Kenneth Cole Camera Bag Won't Cramp Your Style

I wish the dimensions of the New York Motorway Camera Bag from Kenneth Cole were listed in its description, because I'd love to be able to use it for my SLR.

It's leather and looks like any other great handbag, so it's great for discretion against potential camera-snatchers, as well as meaning that you don't have to compromise style to get a great supportive bag to stow your camera. However, it's also an expensive handbag price: $248.

I have to say though, if I found out it could hold my SLR and not just my point-and-shoot, I may be raiding my piggy bank pretty soon.

Crumpler Takes Over SF!

I'm a big fan of Crumpler bags, so I jumped at the chance to go to the grand opening of the first West Coast Crumpler store right here in San Francisco. Born in Australia, Crumpler bags are functional, versatile, yet still stylish (even more so than rival bag-maker Timbuk2, maybe?). I got a chance to see some cool limited-edition artist series bags, and was pleased to find out I can customize my own online. Check out the new store and some of the awesome bags that line the shelves.
