The last couple of days have been some of the most experimental of the week. If you've seen the makeup and hair at Marc Jacobs's runway show you know what I'm talking about. While I'm excited to see designers innovating, I'd also like to showcase looks that are achievable without a team of brilliant makeup artists present. So along with the big, cool-to-look-at shows, I've put together some of the prettiest, most accessible looks from the last couple of days. Click through and see for yourself. Across the pond in New York, Fashion Week has been keeping the city that never sleeps buzzing. The shows officially started on 10th September, which has given me quite some time to start analyzing the newest beauty trends for Spring 2010. For those of you who are happy to put aside your perky neon and pastel makeup, this is your season to let your inner beauty do the talking! Love it or Hate it: Anna Wintour on David Letterman

Anna Wintour did a rare interview last night as she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. The US Vogue editor is currently promoting The September Issue which is released in the UK on 11th September. In the interview she talked about the perception of her as "the devil", tabloid rumours and David's socks! She wore a black and white pansy dress by Carolina Herrera for the show with nude sandals and her signature shades.

Chic Cruise '10 Just Got Hotter

Ready or not, here come more chic cruise '10 collections. And let me tell ya, this batch is the hottest. Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, Helmut Lang, and Yigal Azrouël have delivered ruggedly cool duds; Calvin Klein is minimalistic but subtly sexy; Brian Reyes is youthful and lends gorgeous prints; Caroline Herrera, Jason Wu, and Diane von Furstenberg are all about brights; and Miu Miu (left) gives us sheer fluidity. Go on, get your cruise on.

Who's Most Fab at the American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala?

Last night was the 69th Annual American Ballet Theatre Spring gala at the Metropolitan Opera House in NYC. The elegant event saw equally chic attendees like Ivanka Trump, Iman, Claire Danes, Lindsay Price, and Coco Rocha. The go-to designer of the evening was Carolina Herrera and almost everyone had the blues - a gaggle of blue dresses draped gorgeous bods like Ivanka's. Fab Flash: Economy Forces Bridal Designers to Think Bigger and Cheaper

During trying, economic times, bridal designers are forced to think creatively. On top of slashing prices, designers are cooking up new, imaginative designs to lure in the bride to be. Vera Wang, for example, reduced her price points up to 50 percent with gowns retailing at $3,600 compared to $5,500 last year. "There is a bigger challenge. You have to be creative and be sure you want to show something special,” said Carolina Herrera who came up with a unique bridal collection inspired by classic painters such as Claude Monet and Édouard Manet.

J.Crew is offering its once online exclusive bridal collection in select stores.
Alfred Angelo, a 75-year-old bridal label, launched a Recessionista collection with prices starting at $298.
To play up brides’ unique personalities, Junko Yoshioka teamed up with astrologist Susan Miller to create a collection inspired by the various astrological signs.
Monique Lhuillier designed a new bridesmaid line retailing between $250 and $390.

Carolina Herrera's Bridal Toppers: Love It or Hate It?

No doubt Carolina Herrera makes some desirable wedding gowns. She just showed her Spring 2010 collection and, while gorgeous gowns glided down the runway, I was distracted by the bridal toppers. It's a fun runway idea, but in real life, not so much. Maybe if it weren't with a traditional white gown. White bikini and fedora? Now that makes sense. What do you think, if you were engaged, would you ever consider wearing a hat on your big day?

Trend Alert: Pin-Up Girls

Think you need to strip to your lacy underthings to be a pin-up girl? Think again. At Carolina Herrera and Donna Karan, hair pins transformed basic hairstyles into something fresh and innovative. And best of all, trying this runway look doesn't cost much money - just a couple of bucks for hair pins, and you're good to go. Arrange them in angular groups as Orlando Pita did at Carolina Herrera, or space them out to create the illusion of movement as seen at Donna Karan. Finally, when it comes to "business in the front, party in the back," we no longer need to think of mullets.

Golden Globe Awards: Renee Zellweger

Renee Zellweger showed a more experimental side than we're used to. She walked the red carpet in a sheer black blouse with cutout shoulders and a mermaid-style skirt - Carolina Herrera, of course. She adorned both her wrists with gold bangles and carried her necessities in a gold clutch. Are you digging this or is it too much?

A Pre-Fall Preview, Part II
