New DVD and music releases are the perk of Tuesdays, and today's album picks are fresh, fun, and guaranteed to liven up your iPod. I've checked out today's new music and have some advice for what's worth the download.
Don't stop partying: I'll resist doing a full-on album review for Weezer's Raditude; it's tempting, because I've always been a fan and have much to say about the band's transformation over the last 15 years.

Carrie Underwood's new album Play On comes out on Nov. 3, and here's the new single off it called "Cowboy Casanova." It's pretty upbeat rather than the ballads she's so famous for, but she still has that strong voice and personality that come through every time.
The Best (and the Biggest) From the Academy of Country Music Awards
The divas of country were out last night at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Carrie, Taylor, and Miley mixed up their styles throughout the evening, while beauties Marisa Miller and Nicole Kidman (in back-plunging L'Wren Scott) shined all night long. A couple notables: Nicole's asymmetrical bob updo and Carrie Underwood's gigantic Rafael Cennamo Gone With the Wind gown.

The big bright stars of country music came together in Las Vegas last night for the Academy of Country Music Awards. Nicole Kidman stood out on the red carpet, laughing with Keith Urban in her daring dress, while the young ladies in the circuit like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood lightened things up in their gorgeous gowns. Miley Cyrus looked surprisingly demure with her dad on her arm instead of boyfriend Justin Gaston.

Posh, Eva, and More Help Elton Raise Money After the Oscars
For many stars, Elton John's annual charitable Oscar party was the destination last night, and for others it was a stop along the way. Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria, and Chace Crawford were just a handful of the beautiful people who stepped out to attend his 17th Oscar bash, which raised $4 million for AIDS by the end of the night. Kate Beckinsale had her husband Len as her date, while Ben Stiller ditched his Joaquin beard to chat up Ryan Seacrest.
Couples Galore Join Elton on Oscars Night
Lots of stars from our side of the pond joined their fellow British celebrity Elton John for his 17th Annual AIDS Foundation Oscars Party at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood last night. It was certainly an evening for couples, with Jordan and Peter Andre rubbing shoulders with Gordon and Tana Ramsay, who are putting their recent troubles behind them. American and British unions were also represented by Claire Danes and her fiance Hugh Dancy plus Mamma Mia costars and couple Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper.

John, Carrie, Paul, and Pregnant MIA Liven Up Press Room
The 2009 Grammy winners kept things exciting backstage posing with their new statues last night. John Mayer is an old pro by now at posing with multiple Grammy Awards, while Carrie Underwood showed off a new dress to smile for the cameras with hers. Many of the winners were announced before the show, but it was still exciting for them to join the crowd of all the other recipients.
