In advance of Happy Caturday, I thought I'd post this cute cartoon Fuzzles sent our way. The Simon's cat series depict essentially the same scenario: Simon's cat will not be ignored, and resorts to all manner of devious acts to get attention. Whether it's jumping all over Simon when he tries to sleep, or messing up his papers when he's trying to work, the cat is a punkass. But still adorable.

Flashback: The Superficial Friends

The superhero group The Superficial Friends is made up of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and the Olsen Twins. In this episode, they find themselves lured into the lair of diabolical fanboy Harry Knowles (the awful writer from Ain't It Cool News). First, he threatens to write a bad review of Lindsay's latest film, and then reveals he just wants to turn them into love slaves. How do they get out of it? Nicole choke holds one bad guy with her thighs, Lindsay's breasts beat up another guy, and one of the Olsens turns into Bob Saget. Genius, just genius.

Flashback: Foghorn Leghorn and the Tiny Chicken Hawk

I always loved this little loud-mouthed chicken hawk, Henery Hawk. (Yes, that's how it's spelled.) No one would let him catch a chicken, but he was totally determined. With his New Yawk accent ("I'm gonna get my fuyst chicken today, and dat's dat!") and punkass ways, he always won over peeps like Foghorn Leghorn ("I say, my boy, I say. . ."), who dismissed him for his size. Man, these were violent, though! Everyone's gettin' brained by that little guy!

Owen Wilson to Bring Marmaduke to the Big Screen

Marmaduke, the comic strip about a giant-sized Great Dane and his owners, finally has a voice. Owen Wilson - who's no stranger to working with dogs, given Marley and Me - has just signed on to lend his voice to the trouble-making pooch in the half CGI, half live-action film set to hit theaters next Summer.

Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of the animated and live-person combo. It rarely works when actors are talking to cartoons (one exception being Who Framed Roger Rabbit?), but obviously I'm not the target audience here. Plus, Marmaduke does have some of my favorite people in it, including Judy Greer and Lee Pace who both play humans in the film, and hopefully the movie will offer us adults a dose of humor, too.

Do you think Wilson is a good choice to voice Marmaduke? Anyone you would've rather seen in the role?

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Sequel Confirmed

If it's bad, it'll just be drawn that way: '80s animated/live action classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is getting a sequel, 21 years after its release.

The film's director, Bob Zemeckis, has confirmed that a Roger Rabbit sequel is moving forward, and the original screenwriters are working on a script. Zemeckis is looking forward to using digital tools to update this new installment, which makes me wonder just how different this movie will look from the 1988 original. There are also no details yet on the plot or which characters will be returning - though I assume that Roger and Jessica Rabbit will be back, not having aged a cartoon day.

I'm very curious about this project, considering that the original director and writer are on board, but I wonder if the same humor will hold up; it could either be a total disaster, or a modernized take on the movie. What do you think of this news?

Pac-Man Is A Lousy Roommate

Who doesn't love Pac-Man? I'm not a gamer and even I have a soft spot for the classic video game character. But there's someone who's not so amused by the little gobbler and that's his roommate, Chase. It turns out that Pac-Man's no bowl of cherries to live with-- probably because he ate 'em already. Whoops.

In this episode of The Superficial Friends, the girls are captured and shrunk by Tom Cruise and his "hobbit patrol" of Toby Maguire, Mark Wahlberg, and Colin Ferrell. (That's more of a "hottie patrol" if you ask me.) So who will save them? Will it be Space Monkey Seacrest? Their publicists? Or, will Robo-Holmes assert her independence and free them all of Cruise's control? Watch and see.

Holy Manhole! "In the name of decent citizens everywhere," stop and watch the dynamic duo fight crime and take time to unrealistically abide by street safety rules. You'd think their stalling would work against them, but thanks to the convenient manhole located smack in the middle of street, the Joker ain't the last one laughing and the crime fighting goody-goodies effortlessly save the day! Bwahahahaha!
