Rihanna Leads the Way With Amazing Women For Glamour

Rihanna stole the show in her dramatic white dress as she and her fellow honorees took the red carpet at last night's Glamour Women of the Year celebration in NYC. Carnegie Hall was brimming with beautiful ladies from Iman to Maria Shriver and Diane von Furstenberg. Catherine Zeta-Jones stood out in blue and had Michael Douglas by her side for support. Rih was just one of a handful of women who were chosen by the magazine, but all eyes were on her - and most of you are loving the look, just the latest in her fashion metamorphosis!

Padma Lakshmi showed off her growing baby bump while one of the evening's honorees Stella McCartney smiled big with her award up on stage where she also had some trouble with her super short skirt. Amy Poehler and Michelle Obama were two of the magazine's other women of the year, though the First Lady didn't attend the event since she was with her husband President Barack Obama visiting with families at Fort Hood. The night was full of inspirational and important females who spoke and mingled, celebrating each other and Glamour's picks. Matthew and Catherine Celebrate Michael's Body of Work

Michael Douglas was the man of the evening last night as he received an AFI Lifetime Achievement Award in LA. He hit the red carpet on the arm of his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, while his Ghosts of Girlfriends Past costar Matthew McConaughey brought along Camila Alves. Kiefer Sutherland and Tobey Maguire took the stage to pay tribute to their pal Michael, and Catherine even brought out her Chicago skills for a song-and-dance number in her husband's honor. Michael's been a Hollywood heavyweight for decades, but we'll see more of him on the big screen in the Wall Street sequel and, according to Catherine, a project they're looking to star in together.

Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones arrived at the A Fine Romance benefit in California this weekend looking like a true screen siren. Catherine's skin was glowing and she emphasised her brown eyes with ultra long lashes. I like how Catherine has matched her blood-red lipstick to her nails too.

Big, piled up curls were a nod to the retro bouffant hair trend. Meanwhile a touch of smudgy black kohl under the eyes gave her makeup a polished effect without looking overdone. What's your opinion on Catherine's beauty look?

Movie Preview: Death Defying Acts

Hmm. . . a movie with two relatively big-ish actors (Catherine Zeta-Jones is perhaps more recognizable, but Guy Pearce is an exceptional actor, as you may recall from a little something called Memento) that has been completed for many months but gets practically no U.S. promotion whatsoever, even as its release date (July 11) fast approaches? It kinda makes you wonder about this Harry Houdini drama, Death Defying Acts.

Little Women director Gillian Armstrong leads the dramatic tale of escapism and romance. The story takes place in 1926 Britain where Houdini "enters into a passionate affair with a Scottish psychic (Zeta-Jones). The psychic and her daughter (Saoirse Ronan) attempt to con Houdini during a highly publicized séance to contact his mother whose death has haunted him for many years. However, all does not go to plan."

The story has so much potential to be dark and intriguing, and I am always curious about what Guy Pearce is up to. Plus, there's a pre-Atonement (and thus pre-Oscar nom) Saoirse Ronan and she is a pretty great little actress.

The movie already had an Australian premiere and I will probably give it a shot when it comes to a theater near me. To check out the trailer, read more.

John Mayer Comes Home to Foxwoods With Some Friends

MGM Grand opened its newest outpost at Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Connecticut on Saturday night, bringing out some big names and Grammy winners. John Mayer looks like he got another haircut between lovefests with Jennifer Aniston before taking the stage in his home state with Alicia Keys. Diddy was in the house to celebrate Diddy's Den, a VIP party set up for the event. Jenny McCarthy didn't have Jim by her side, but she looked sexy all solo on her way into enjoy the new casino. Looks like John has a new getaway spot when he decides to bring Jennifer home to see his native state, wink.
