Would You Buy a TV Quiz Show on DVD?

There's a plethora of quiz shows on TV featuring celebrity panelists and when they're good - like QI or Never Mind the Buzzcocks - they can be very funny. Next week the latter is being released on DVD with a compilation of clips featuring Amy Winehouse, Noel Fielding, Russell Brand, Stephen Fry and the infamous moment when Preston of The Ordinary Boys walked out and they replaced him with a member of the audience. They would make a good Christmas gift for a fan, but I'd like to know if you have or would buy a TV quiz show compilation on DVD?

Why Do Celebrities Love Ugly Cell Phone Clips?

Last week PopSugar reported that Courteney Cox hit up Il Sole with her daughter, little Coco. I couldn't help but notice the usually chic Cox was sporting an awkward, "this was inspired by a 47-year-old business man" cell phone clip on her belt.

Sadly, Courteney isn't the only celebrity to commit this major geek faux paux. Nicole Richie's fella Joel Madden was also spotted wearing his BlackBerry on his hip recently, leading me to believe that somewhere there are a pack of stylists or personal assistants encouraging the use. Yes, I know, they are important, busy people, but your phone shouldn't be worn as an accessory in any circumstance.

As always, my advice is to get a more chic and discreet cell phone holder, which will allow you to keep your phone within reach, but not attached to your body.

Watch David Letterman Admit to Affairs, Extortion Plot - Surprising or Not?

David Letterman made a fairly explosive admission on his show tonight. He came clean about affairs he had with female employees and a recent extortion plot to bring it all out into the open. He got the police involved and an arrest was made today of the man who tried to get $2 million from Dave to keep quiet. The segment is super awkward since it doesn't seem like the audience knows that he's being serious and he does crack jokes throughout. The whole thing seems a bit out of nowhere, but then again there's so much celebrity scandal these days it's getting harder to actually expect anyone famous is totally squeaky clean. Yoga With Biggest Loser Trainer Bob Harper

I gaze out past the middle finger of my left hand into the Hollywood Hills as my right quad quivers holding Warrior 2. This is when Bob Harper, trainer from The Biggest Loser, says, "You might be feeling a bit of heat in your thigh right about now." He's teaching a yoga class to a few bloggers and ladies of the press, and we all laugh as our legs burn.

You can hear Bob's charming smile even in his calm instructions leading us from pose to pose. He's a thoughtful teacher, with smart sensitive hands that gently mold you into correct positions. I've had a bit of a TV crush on him for years, and now after meeting him in person, I'm smitten. This yoga class and round table discussion were produced by Go With the Grain, and although carbs did come up (as well as protein, which Bob thinks is overrated), we mostly talked about the show, yoga, and a dash of musical theater. He mentioned the contestant Shay more than a few times; she was clearly on his mind. Having lived through each moment during filming, Bob doesn't watch the show but checks the ratings the following morning. He's also learned to avoid the online community boards: "They're so mean." He addresses the recent criticism about all the screaming on the show and shakes his head in dismay and bemusement about the clip of a tirade used on the Emmys.

Bob said there is so much of the action at the ranch that ends on the cutting room floor because it doesn't make for good TV. Which brings us to yoga. Quiet, slow yoga. He actually does a fair bit with his contestants because it's meditative. "It helps them own their bodies," he explains. Working with people that weigh over 300 pounds, Bob gets creative with props, using benches to help support Shay in Chaturanga. Ten minutes of sun salutations is often part of the exercise homework he gives his team.

Bob still teaches a Saturday spin class at a Crunch in LA and has participated in the SF to LA AIDS ride, so I asked him if he rides a road bike much. "I spin four to five days a week and get my cycle time there. Mostly, I like to ride my motorcycle." Who taught him to ride? Jillian. They hang out all the time. Cute.

As a personal trainer, we know Bob is into fitness, but food is a major part of the health picture. Growing up on a cattle farm, with "two coffin freezers full of meat," Bob is not into animal protein and believes in a plant-based diet. He feels too much emphasis has been placed on protein. He really wants people to focus on fruits and veggies, and of course grains. On the show, he tell contestants that life on the ranch is the little picture. It's extreme. Going forward with their lives after The Biggest Loser they're going to need to find balance. Which is what we all need, especially when doing the standing splits to end a series of standing poses he taught in his class.

Lauren may have retired from The Hills, but she's certainly still a presence on the red carpet. For the VMAs, she ditched her extensions and went with a 1930s-inspired style held back with a sweet hair clip. Her makeup was all whisper pinks, from eyes to cheeks and lips. She definitely doesn't look overdone the way some celebrities do on the red carpet, but do you think her soft pastels were right for the VMAs - or should they have stayed in Malibu?

Tom Colicchio Makes a Bloody Good Drink

While I rang in the season premiere of True Blood with a sublime red velvet cookie sandwich, Tom Colicchio was inspiring fans of the show to get in the kitchen as well.

Top Chef's head judge is no newbie to plugging drinks - witness his Diet Coke commercial spot. But on this segment of "The Perspective" with Victoria Davis, he goes above and beyond, making a beverage for fictitious, blood-sucking friends: "I have a few friends that are vampires, and I've had this issue. We go out, and I'm sitting there through appetizer, and entree, and dessert, and they're just kind of nursing a TruBlood," he says. See the video when you read more.

If you wanted any sign that pop culture is fragmented and random, look no further than VH1's Daisy of Love. In order to even begin to fathom what this show is about, you have to be prepared to jump down the rabbit hole of reality television with me. Here goes. It stars Daisy de la Hoya - the runner up of Rock of Love 2. Not the winner, and not the first Rock of Love. And it's a dating show.

Daisy of Love premiered in April. I have missed out, but at the urging of obsessed fans, I've taken a look. Wow, uh, who dresses these people, where did they come from, and are they the result of an airborne toxic event? They're like mutant strains of douchebags, the chode version of C.H.U.D. (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller) - C.H.O.D.E.

Anyway, in this clip, Daisy gives nicknames to the contestants, and there's also a man in a thong doing flips. Enjoy!
