Jada Celebrates The Dog Whisperer's 100th Episode With Cesar

Whether or not you'd love to sign up for Cesar Millan's services, the dog behaviorist has quite a few celebrity backers, including Jada Pinkett Smith, seen here at the 100th episode celebration for The Dog Whisperer in Hollywood on Sept. 17.

The actress recently called for Cesar's help after her pooch, Rocco, was killed by a rattlesnake at her Malibu home - he helped the Smiths' remaining dogs learn to be wary of snakes and I can't wait to see his techniques . . . 'cause I know how dangerous poisonous snakes can be! Although I don't think she'll be included in the 100th episode (airing Friday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. on the National Geographic Channel), I'll let you know when you can catch his snake strategy yourselves.

With "designer dogs" becoming more en vogue, many pet owners are taking a greater interest in what breeds make up their mutt's DNA. Nowadays, these hybrid pooches are often bred for a specific result, putting the price of ownership at top dollar, many times meriting even more than the price of traditional purebred dogs. Favored by celebrities such as Jessica Simpson seen here with her maltipoo (Maltese and Toy Poodle mix), Daisy, many people are not only clamoring for these new breeds but also want to know what unique mix they already own.

Enter: WISDOM Panel MX, the most comprehensive DNA-based mixed breed test for dogs that will analyze your hybrid dog's DNA. Running at $65 and up, the price tag is not for everyone. However, the miracle of its development includes the analysis of more than 19 million DNA markers from more than 13,000 dogs, and it can detect more than 130 breeds covering 99 percent of AKC registered breeds. On the one hand, I can understand wanting to know (especially if it affects his well-being) but, on the other, who needs to fit a cute pooch into neat little check boxes.

Sadly, Mimi LaRue passed away but she's far from long gone from my mind – how many dogs have we seen sporting tulle for goodness sake? It's not just me who loved this pup, Tori Spelling herself said:

She was not just a dog but a fashion icon and legend amongst Hollywood dogs. She received fan email on a regular basis, and I often joked she got sent more designer clothes than me!

Does Ashton Kutcher Really Pee With His Dogs?

As much as I like to see celebrities out with their dogs, I don't know if I'd like to see Ashton and his pups on their morning walk. I think Vida Blue is a total cutie, but I recently read that Ashton likes to be one with nature, and with his dogs, by using their potty break as one for himself too.

"I pee outside my house in my yard," says Kutcher. "I usually start my day off by taking my dogs out. While they go, I go."

I'm hoping for his neighbors' sake that it must be a joke . . . I mean it sounds too ridiculous. What do you think?!

Celeb Redo: A Better Doggie Bag For Susan Sarandon

I love to see celebs getting snuggly with their pooches, so how delighted was I to catch this glimpse of Susan Sarandon and her lil Maltese?! Even so, I'm less pleased to witness the furry-pal-inside-purse phenom later that night.

Granted, the two were attending Longchamp's 60th Anniversary celebration in NYC, so the Legende Satchel was a must-have, but where's a proper tote for her precious pet, Penny? Next time, hopefully she'll carry that metallic trend with an appropriate luxe, gold (dog) bag like these below.

Smooch-a-Pooch Celebrity Doggie Bags

It's hard for me to wrap my head around the sweet swag celebrities get for themselves and their furry friends. Not just at award shows either. Recently, famous pet owners from Oprah Winfrey and Martha Stewart to Jessica Simpson and Sarah Jessica Parker were mailed these fab Smooch-a-Pooch Doggie Bags. I know I'd love to have one of these sweet sets myself with over $600 worth of merchandise. There's one being auctioned off on eBay where 100 percent of the proceeds go towards Dogs Who Care, a nonprofit that raises money for shelters and sanctuaries across the country. In the Spotlight: Mýa Continues the Tour For Life

Remember when Mýa and the North Shore Animal League kicked off the Tour For Life just a couple weeks ago? Well, now that the cross-country adoption drives have their engines up and running, check out all the people who cruised in for yesterday's event featuring pets from the North Shore Animal League America and the Los Angeles Department of Animal Services at Venice Beach, CA. I love to see celebrities backing good causes, and this certainly counts as a great one. This month-long cooperative initiative with animal shelters across the country not only raises public awareness about the plights of all shelter pets, it also helps hundreds of orphaned dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens find their forever homes. And, because I love looking at cute pooches finding new families, I couldn't resist sharing a gallery of some of the adoptable furries when you read more.
