Oscar season has finally bit the dust, and I'm ready for a fresh round of flicks. I know Cate Blanchett must have returned to her eco-friendly home, and George Clooney to his Lake Como villa, but where have all the others retreated now that the party is over? Kate Winslet has likely hopped the pond to her $6.9 million country estate in Cotswald, England, along with Helen Mirren to her nineteenth-century Georgian townhouse in London.
Coveted Crib: Kate Walsh's Lovely LA Home
Kate Walsh's 1920s Spanish-style Los Angeles home is featured in this month's issue of InStyle, and I'm blown away by how glamorously laid-back it is. While elements like a Steinway grand piano, lush fur throws, and a 1960s Lucite console offer that prim Old Hollywood look you see in many celebrity homes, there is something really layered and livable about it that I found unusual. Turns out, Walsh eschewed her usual interior designer route and hired the set decorator of Private Practice, Melissa Levander, to put the space together.

But when beloved reality star Lauren Conrad bought her first home at only 21 years old, and left her well-televised digs in the Hollywood Hills, you (and I) really went bananas, surely overwhelmed with a moderate dose of envy. September 2009 was a big month for British fashion as London celebrated it's 25th year as a style capital. Many of the UK's biggest names and brands, including Matthew Williamson, Burberry and Jonathan Saunders, brought their designs home creating an amazing buzz around the city.
Although the celebrations are nearly over with, it seems that the experience has left quite the impact on Jonathan Saunders who told Vogue that he intends to stay here for one more season.

With every home you visit, you must imagine what your life would be like in that exact setting, and get a feel for the Feng Shui it exudes. Part of the fun in house hunting is speculating how the previous owners lived; how their furniture was arranged, what their dinner table conversation was like, and if they were happy living in your potential new home.

Victoria Makes a Triumphant Return at Barneys
Victoria Beckham got a head start on her holiday shopping at Barneys in LA yesterday. We've seen Posh browsing around the store before, and she looked right at home perusing their extensive shoe department.
