John Continues to Share All the Details

John Mayer was proud to show off his colorful tattoo sleeve on the December cover of Details. He's out and about talking about his latest album, Battle Studies, but in typical Mayer fashion John didn't only speak about business. Just like in his recent interview with the New York Times, John quickly got candid about his personal life. Here's more:

On his relationships with Hollywood's leading ladies: "You just never know who’s going to come into your life. To my mind, the only thing sicker than saying, 'Wow, you’re a famous person and it would do a lot for my career to go out with you,' is to say, 'Wow, you’re a famous person and I like you and all, but I can’t do that to my career.' I don’t think either of those is a good option."
On his unexpected collaboration with country star Taylor Swift: "I don’t know if you know, but I’m not exactly Bob Dylan - I’m already a pop musician . . . I want to reach as many people as possible."
His music vs. his celebrity persona: "Sometimes I feel like I do two things for a living. I make records and I talk to people. The record is much, much better than any interview I can give - you’ll walk away from the record liking me a hell of a lot more than you would walking away from an interview."

She's partnered with Walmart to come up with a turkey day feast that's only $20, and plans to serve it to her own family this holiday. "My family is really getting the $20 thanksgiving!" she says. Celebrity Chef Art Smith Scores New TLC Show

NBC and Fox aren't the only channels trying to nab a piece of the cooking show pie. So is cable channel TLC. Not only does the lifestyle network boast new programming like Cake Boss and the soon-to-air BBQ Pitmasters, but the channel has just ordered eight episodes of a new 30-minute series, Craving Comfort, starring celebrity chef Art Smith.

Rather than demoing dishes in the traditional cooking show sense, Smith will travel the country in search of America's most satisfying eats. Each show will focus on one particular comfort food, such as fried chicken or apple pie. Craving Comfort will debut in late 2010.

Smith, who owns Table Fifty-Two and was Oprah Winfrey's personal chef for a decade, recently starred in the Bravo series Top Chef Masters. I think David Chang is right in saying that comfort foods will be big in 2010, and that this show will take off. Are you a big enough fan of Art Smith to tune in?

Victoria Smith's Go-To Holiday Gift Ideas

I do have a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to holiday gifts, but I'm always impressed with what my design-savvy friends give each year. So, I decided to ask some interior design "tastemakers" for their favorite go-to presents. From designers and stylists to bloggers and shop-owners, some of the brightest stars in the design world have shared their favorite holiday gift ideas with me.

To kick things off, San Francisco-based Victoria Smith of the always-inspiring blog sfgirlbybay has shared her go-to gift ideas. But, she admits she's not a huge fan of the commercial side of Christmas: "I love the white twinkling lights, and the parties and dinner gatherings with friends - the celebrations. I do love that part."

On gifts for friends: "Most of my friends and I for years have agreed to always make our gifts for each other. Even when they sometimes don't come out quite as well as you had envisioned, we give them anyway, and just have a good laugh. From homemade pillow cases, to miniature snow domes made from baby food jars, and knit scarves, we've gone through some good gifts and some good laughs."

Brad Brings His Beard Back to CA and the Dark Void

Brad Pitt was continuing his own personal celebration of National Beard Month as he arrived back at LAX last night. He arrived in Nice on Wednesday, but quickly turned back around and headed back to California. While Brad was jet-setting, there was some new movie news for him - he's producing and starring in the big screen adaptation of video game The Dark Void. He and Angelina are both signing on to new projects, but still find time for art loving date nights and even a new jewelry designing gig.

We Talk to Matt and Josh While the People Speak

Matt Damon and Josh Brolin stepped out last night for the NYC premiere of The People Speak. The program, which features celebrities reading important documents from America's past, will debut on the History Channel Dec. 13. Both Matt and Josh are producers of the project that features Danny Glover, and John Krasinski made a late, low-key entrance to pose for photos before heading inside. Emily Blunt was there for the afterparty, lending her support to both her fiance John and her The Adjustment Bureau costar Matt. We had a chance to chat with Josh, who said working with Matt is easy and fun - and they're also set to star together in an upcoming Coen brothers film. Matt, meanwhile, said history is a big hit with his girls at home, though his youngest two daughters are still a little too small to show much interest just yet.

Last night at the New Moon premiere in New York City, the stars from the Twilight saga and celebrity fans gathered for the finale in this long, and seemingly grueling (albeit exciting) press tour. I loved Kristen Stewart's dark eyes contrasted by her pale skin and lips and Ashley Greene's pretty pink pout, but I wasn't totally sold on the overly mature red lip and metallic dark eye on Taylor Momsen.
