On Our Radar: Blackberry Designer Wallpaper

Do you remember when the word 'wallpaper' simply referred to the fabric which probably adorned the walls of your parents' house? Well, technology has brought a whole new meaning to the word as it also decorates the background on your computer or your mobile phone.

For the festive season, Blackberry have teamed up with designers and celebrities to bring a bit of festive cheer to you. You can go here and download the various wallpapers by Celia Birtwell, Antoni & Alison, Rachel Stevens and Ollie Evans. If you're particularly taken with any of the designs then you can go to their Facebook page and download wrapping paper.

I am currently using the Celia Birtwell wallpaper and even though it's not festive it's certainly brightened up my phone. Celia commented, “Mystic Daisy is one of my favourite prints of all time and has been the most successful. It is wonderful to bring to this print to a new audience via BlackBerry making 'design' easily accessible for a new generation."

On Our Radar: Celia Birtwell for Topshop

Celia Birtwell's long running collaboration with Topshop is one of the most successful High Street/designer collaborations out there. Using her iconic vintage prints, she creates beautiful pieces for the store which look like they should have a designer price tag. I personally am a huge fan of both Ossie Clark and Celia Birtwell so am always excited to hear that another of her collections is hitting stores. This Autumn her line is even better with cut-out detail and huge flapping sleeves. Prices range from £50 for a blouse to £100 for a jumpsuit.

It's no secret that I have a soft spot for Ossie Clark and Celia Birtwell so imagine my excitement when I heard that Ms Birtwell had collaborated with Millets! She has done several collections with Topshop, but this range of camping gear is sure to spice up any festival.

If you've ever been to a festival you'll know how difficult it is to spot your tent, particularly in the middle of the night when you're stumbling around in the dark! Either of these Celia Birtwell tents are sure to make you stand out but why not make sure with an enormous matching golf umbrella as well? I have already convinced myself that a Celia Birtwell sleeping bag is an obligatory festival item.

There are so many high-low designer collaborations these days, I can hardly keep track of them all. But girl am I glad I didn't let the Celia Birtwell for Express one slip through the cracks. Her '60s-inspired prints are just what I need right now. The sweet floral patterns adorning tie-front blouses and airy dresses are a nod to the past but they feel current. I'm definitely making a stop at my local Express this weekend, and I recommend you do the same!

On Our Radar: Express Begins a Designer Collaboration

Target does it, so does H&M. Now, Express is throwing their hat into the guest designer ring by collaborating with British textile designer Celia Birtwell, who also works with Topshop.

Birtwell is bringing her bohemian aesthetic to Express with four mini-collections, the first of which debuts on April 7 and includes two chiffon blouses in six different prints ($80) and one silk dress (left) in two different prints ($128).

The second collection will appear in July and likely include more of Birtwell's '70s-inspired, flowy prints. Another one for the shopping list!

Look of the Day: Tip Top from Topshop

Lauren89 looks like she's on top of the world (or at least on top of the playground) in this tip top from Topshop ensemble - too bad she ripped her dress minutes later while sliding down a slide! I love the pairing of the bright dress with the dark cardigan and tights - it really makes the dress pop. And the slip underneath the dress adds a little femininity to the severity of the black! Loving it!

Both Peaches Geldof and Fearne Cotton stepped out last week in pieces from the latest Celia Birtwell for Topshop range. They are wearing the same print but in different styles. Peaches stepped out to support her husband Max Drummey in a Celia playsuit teaming it with ankle boots and showing off her latest hair style. Fearne wore a Celia daisy blouse with shorts, mary-jane heels and the latest Mulberry handbag. But who do you think wears Celia Birtwell for Topshop better?

Love it or Hate it: Celia Birtwell Jumpsuit

On Monday, the latest Celia Birtwell for Topshop collection hit stores across the UK. The collection includes pretty blouses, jumpsuits and dresses all, of course, adorned with her gorgeous, classic prints.

Jumpsuits are a relatively new addition to the capsule collection available in short length (£75) and full length. Personally, I think the shorter length would be more flattering on me but I still can't decide if I like it or not. What do you think?

Graduate Fashion Week: Northumbria University

Students from Northumbria University headed to Earls Court on Sunday evening to present their graduate collections. The catwalk had a monochrome makeover for the show as the clothes brought plenty of colour. The show opened with Nicola Morgan's jigsaw designs showcasing designs which looked like they'd literally been pieced together. The detail was kept quite subtle on this formalwear, but a quick demonstration as a model ripped off a perforated section proved the versatility of these clothes.

Ruth Davis had fun with prints for her designs which mixed Eley Kishimoto and Celia Birtwell style textiles. Charlotte Simpson also played with colour for her '60s influenced line. She used applique patches, oversized eyelets and geometric patterns.

Both Gabrielle Schoenenberger and Amber Little used a bright palette for their designs which included childlike pictures. Amber created streetwear whilst Gabrielle went for a more dressed-up approach. What do you think of this graduate collection?
