I know I have made fun of David Beckham, Courteney Cox and Joel Madden for using dorky belt clips to hold their BlackBerries, but there are some acceptable ways to carry your cell phone on your person without looking like the geeky copy guy. While I'd prefer them to be slimmer, I can't find anything terribly offensive about these leather cell necklaces from Strapya World. They come in a variety of colors and would free up your hands and pockets of your cell, while keeping it near.

These bio-tech mobile plant cell phone straps definitely have a bit more 'life' to them than these other wacky cell phone straps! Available in blue and pink, these real life plant phone charms don't require any food or water - you just leave them alone and let them survive off the food in the bottle. Kinda cute, I'm just hoping that they wouldn't break or leak inside my purse.

I can't say I regularly tote around miniSD cards, but if this fun holder could carry a USB stick, I'd be all for it. These card eating straps which I saw on OhGizmo! can be attached to cell phones and cameras so you know exactly where your memory card is at all times.

Get yo strap-on with the multi-functional CPC strap. I'm trying to guesstimate how many celebs sported this accessory down the red carpet at the Oscars. Just when you thought this $20 elastic band couldn't get anymore glamorous - it includes a jewelry strap loop so you can personalize the case by attaching cell phone trinkets, beads or charms.

If the plush Fonies weren't something you'd want to hang from your cell phone, check out these sequined gold and silver charms. These charms are definitely one of those fashion over function accessories and most likely the ideal strap for people who want to add some sparkle to their otherwise plain phone. Displayed on 7Gadgets, these shimmery cloths cost $7.35 each with three styles to choose from.

There are some accessories that really do make me feel sexy - new cute heels, a sleek clutch, even new gadgets - but the Sexy Underwear Cell Phone Strap from Strapyaworld are a little more than I can handle. The ad promises the miniature panties are "tiny but quite tempting" and will "catch all attentions!" I say that's not the kind of "attentions" any gal needs while talking on her phone.

Dealing with my yoga mat when I ride to the gym can be a pretty tricky feat. I have a bike basket that I can tie it to but it always throws me off balance. That's why I was really excited to find these messenger bags from Modern Union ($68).

I talk a lot of game about keeping your cell phones and MP3 players safe and covered, but guess what — I don't always take my own advice. For example, my iPod is not covered most of the time, and I sometimes let my iPhone run naked in my bag. Bad news, I know.

Whatever you might think about Cell Phone Straps and charms, they are definitely useful for getting a hold of your cell phone. In fact, since a surprising number of people drop their cell phones in the toilet, maybe we'd all do well to have a system for hanging on to our phones.
I'm not into cutesy charms and leashes, but these Mobigrips ($10 each) might be just what I need.
