We've been inundated with Sneak Peeks - bring on the shopping!

The latest one is Chloë Sevigny's collection for Opening Ceremony. It's mostly eccentric, but did we expect anything else from the quirky actress? I'm talking gingham, florals, and fun frocks - with an early '90s reference. I'd definitely wear individual pieces, though in a slightly more polished way. Online Sale Alert! Massive Sale at Opening Ceremony

Opening Ceremony's current sale section has got to be the largest I've seen. Not the cheapest, but the biggest. Besides its namesake brand, it also houses merchandise from Rachel Comey, Vena Cava, Acne, Alexander Wang, and more. There are plenty of avant-garde pieces, but I thought this Zechia Lacey Tee ($193, originally $275) - lollipop not included - is one of the most mass appealing. Fab Blab: Chloë Sevigny

Chloë Sevigny is one of my favourite fashion icons. She makes quirky style look easy, and she always has a unique take on trends. Chloë also designs for Opening Ceremony which is already popular in the States and will soon be available here. Her latest collection will hit Selfridges and Dover Street Market in August.

This weekend Sunday Times Style caught up with her to ask her about getting older, young celebrities and being involved in ad campaigns. Her style is effortless, which not many celebrities seem to achieve any more and it amazes me how she doesn't look like she's aged one bit over the years! She commented, "I’d never want to become famous now. I feel like there’s a real cockiness with young people today. Maybe it’s protective, a shell. But the new celeb daughters and sons, the pop stars, are wise beyond their years."

Despite looking young, she confesses to being aware of her age. "I saw these lace Doc Martens, and I was like, I can’t wear those, I’m 34! Things like that are completely inappropriate. I’ll have to wait until I’m 75, then start wearing them again..." However, Chloë does like to stay in tune with the fashion industry, "It’s fun to be involved in fashion campaigns, to stay relevant to a certain extent, but I’ve never consciously pursued it, and I’m not going to start now."

Who's Watching the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Olympics?

The opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics took place at the symbolic 8:08:08 local time (early this morning for the US) but it's due to broadcast starting on America's East Coast at 7:30 p.m. (and 7:30 p.m., PDT as well.)

The $100 million extravaganza (more than twice the cost of 2004's show) drew 91,000 spectators watching the 35,000 fireworks and almost 3,000 lights during the four-hour ceremony. The capper of the event is gymnast Li Ning, three-time Chinese Gold medalist being lifted by wires, circling the entire stadium in the air before using the torch to light the massive Olympic cauldron.

The anticipated audience stands to make this the most-watched television event ever. If you're watching, let us know what you're thinking! Which athletes are you rooting for? We can always count on Rihanna to deliver fresh goods. The singer did some shopping in LA - here leaving Opening Ceremony - and looked flawless, head to toe. She funked up classic pearls by pairing them with a men's style chambray shirt. To retain femininity, she wore a Twenty8Twelve mini linen skirt, nude sandals, and matching white jewelry. Not the most comfortable way to shop, but certainly the most stylish.

I can't refuse a cool fashion book. Remember the Net-A-Porter notes book that was all interactive and even had little stickers? Here's another collector's item, especially for you Chloe Sevigny fans. Double Celebrity Style: Demi Moore and Tallulah Belle Willis

I love it when mother and daughter look equally stunning. At Glamour's Annual Reel Moments event, Demi Moore and daughter Tallulah Belle Willis both lit up the red carpet. Demi did so in a black Catherine Malandrino dress, while Tallulah dazzled in a navy silk Opening Ceremony frock. Doesn't the black-and-blue combination work so well together? While mommy opted for Yves Saint Laurent's Tribute pumps, daughter went the Louboutin route. Both stylish in their own way.

Dove Release Ceremonies: Maybe Not As Bad As You Think

I was at a recent event where a group of doves were released as a symbol of remembrance. A friend who attended with me was appalled that this was still a common practice, since she thought it was inhumane to raise doves just to be released – where did they go afterwards?

I did some research and found it's not all bad news for the doves. Indeed doves are very fragile in the wild, and since they aren't known for their survival skills, would probably starve or get eaten by another animal before finding their way back anywhere. As a solution, it's standard practice to use white Homing Pigeons instead of doves, since they bare a striking resemblance to peace doves, but are capable of finding their way back to their nests from up to 600 miles away! Researchers believe homing pigeons rely on a "map and compass" – the sun being the map and the earth's magnetic field being the compass, to find their way . . . even from places they've never been before! In fact, the longest recorded distance a homing pigeon has flown home was over 1,000 miles! Impressive.

After sharing the news with my friend, she was obviously relieved, but the action still left a bad taste in her mouth. How do you feel about dove-release ceremonies?
