Sep 30 2009 - 2:00pm After perusing through the pictures from
Rock a Little, Feed a Lot benefit concert that took place last night in LA, I was struck by all of the completely gorgeous, shiny hair. From Isla Fisher to Christina Applegate to Alanis Morissette, it was all about light-reflective locks. There are countless ways to boost shine through technique and product, including starting off by giving residue and buildup a farewell party with a good clarifying shampoo.

I kind of did the pomade thing once with one of my lip balms.
1(I had left home with my hair wet and it was starting to dry a bit weird in the car, I desperately needed something to style it and give it some shine so...)
I used "Honey Trap" by Lush which funnily enough seems to have some ingredients in common with the hair pomade, it worked wonder and my hair smelled of vanilla and honey all day
I'm definitely gonna try that avocado mask by the way, it sounds like it could do wonders for my hair!
Thanks for the tips Bella!
If you do the straight locks, Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny serum is a-mazing. My hair is frizzy and poofy and never shiny... but a dab of this stuff before blow-drying and straightening will keep it straight, sleek and oh-so-shiny all day long. A 5-oz bottle costs $18, I've had it for almost a year and I've still got a little more to go.
2Thank you for adding in the last tip.
I used a spray in shine booster and I didn't read the label carefully enough...it had the no-no ingredients right in the beginning and it made my hair soooo staticky! AHH!
3I have a tip that works! Rinse your hair in cold water after washing/conditioning...I have been doing this since I was 13 and people are always telling me about how shiny my hair is.
4^^ I agree, not to mention a blast of cold water, is just so refreshing after a steamy shower.
