There are a lot of hidden calories in espresso drinks, especially holiday offerings like pumpkin spice lattes. A cup of plain coffee is usually a safe bet calorie wise but buying one cup a day can easily amount to five hundred dollars a year. Some break rooms have coffee machines but the stuff that comes out of those things are usually pretty gross tasting.

A few weeks ago Starbucks sent us a sample of VIA, its new instant coffee. Being a bit of a coffee snob I was kind of grossed out but decided to try it on my upcoming climbing trip anyway.
The best thing VIA has going for it is its size — it's small.

Good morning — and happy National Coffee Day! I don't know about you, but I've already had a cup (or three!) of Joe to celebrate what is, in my humble opinion, the world's greatest morning beverage. Still haven't had enough of the stuff?

In honor of today being National Coffee Day, I thought I'd ask all you coffee lovers out there how far you'd go for a good brew. At more than $100 a pound, kopi luwak, also known as civet coffee, likely takes the title of the world's most expensive coffee. But it also holds the title of world's only twice-consumed coffee.

It is National Coffee Day. Who declared the day? I know not, but I know my love of the bean knows no boundaries.

Even before my afternoon stint as a barista, I was an enthusiastic fan of Starbucks. I go there on an almost daily basis, and often bring in my reusable Starbucks "to go" tumbler. When I first bought it, I had the manager at my local store use a Sharpie to scribble shorthand for my regular order on the side (genius!).
