The Best Movie Bromances

Summit Entertainment is jumping on the boy BFF bandwagon. The studio just purchased a pitch for an all-new bromantic comedy titled We Love You, in the vein of this year's Paul Rudd and Jason Segel hit I Love You, Man. (If that's the case, they may want to consider tweaking that title.) The movie focuses on two guy friends who try to undo a sticky situation when they realize that they're both dating the same woman. It got me thinking about all of the other bromantic duos throughout the years - check out my list, and then tell me your favorites!

Aziz Ansari Gets Three Thumbs Up From Judd Apatow

Am I asleep? Because this sounds like a match made in heaven - Judd Apatow (along with Universal Pictures) has just picked up not one, not two, but three comedies starring Aziz Ansari. The yet-to-be-written ideas were pitched by the Parks and Recreation star as well as Jason Woliner, who is on board to direct. So what kind of hijinks are in store? Here's the rundown:

Project No.1: For now, it's called Let's Do This, and it's about two guys who work for a motivational speaking company and a road trip. Sounds familiar, but still has potential to be very funny.
Project No. 2: In this one, Ansari will play an astronaut (already hilarious) who has to clear his reputation by heading back to outer space.
Project No. 3: The three projects are unrelated, but the third one is actually a spinoff of Apatow's Funny People, focusing on Ansari's character Randy.

When asked about the pitches, Ansari quipped, "We didn’t expect all three to work. We had a breakfast meeting with Judd and pitched them. We were like, 'Which one do you like?’ He wanted all three.' We are hesitant to say too much about our ideas. A few years ago, we announced our new idea about a film where the world ended in the year 2014. We have since had to stop developing this movie."

Boys And Beauties At The British Comedy Awards

The British Comedy Awards took place on Saturday night, with Angus Deayton taking the place of usual (suspended) host Jonathan Ross. Russell Brand won the award for Best Live Stand-Up act and dedicated his award to Jonathan in a video acceptance speech alongside Adam Sandler. Russell managed to not be the most controversial headline grabber of the evening - that debatable honour went to Alan Carr, who dedicated his Best Comedy Entertainment Personality award to Shannon Matthews' kidnapper mother Karen, but has since apologised.

As well as the controversy-baiting boys we were treated to James Corden and Mathew Horne walking the red carpet together, with James posing inside with his close friend and costar Sheridan Smith. There were also plenty of other glam ladies at the event like Eva Mendes, Dita Von Teese, Kelly Brook and Lucy Davis. My girl FabUK wants to know if you love or hate Dita Von Teese's pale pink red carpet look, so let her know!

John Mayer Takes A Stab At Comedy

And by "takes a stab," I mean he kills it. John Mayer is to comedy as Jessica Simpson is to acting-- that is, a disaster. I advise they both keep to singing. (But I'll admit, he does crack a funny Carrie Underwood joke. Let's just hope he has darn good car insurance!)

Reynolds and Faris Are Ready to Share TMI

Confession time: I'm kind of a sucker for Ryan Reynolds, and Just Friends is one of my guilty pleasure movies. So imagine my excitement about this morning's news that Reynolds is teaming up with Anna Faris once again for the upcoming comedy TMI. They'll play a couple who learns that "while honesty is the best policy for a relationship, 'too much information' might not be the best thing."

It already sounds like a premise we've seen before in movies like Liar Liar and The Invention of Lying, but I have faith in Reynolds's chemistry with Faris and both actors' comedic timing. On the other hand, this could definitely end up as one of those over-the-top movies that grosses you out more than it makes you laugh (I'm already predicting a fair amount of overshare about bodily functions).

Are you all for this reunion, or should Ryan Reynolds keep sticking with more serious projects (or even just ones with better titles)?
