The other day I had a baguette that was past its prime, and my first thought was "I'll make bread pudding." But with all the holiday sweets around, I didn't want to add to the temptation with another dessert. So I dug up this recipe for a savory Onion Bread Pudding instead.

A few years ago I was looking for an alternative to my family's standard pumpkin pie with Thanksgiving. It ended up being a perfect blend of delicious pumpkin pie spices and moist cake texture.

Cooking Light magazine recently highlighted a baked potato soup recipe and called it their "best soup ever." I had a bunch of potatoes leftover from Thanksgiving, so I decided to test out the recipe. The potatoes are baked before being added to the soup, creating a wonderful texture.

It's World Vegetarian Month and many people are going meat-free for their health, but others are taking their diets to a whole new level — going raw. A raw food diet consists of consuming unprocessed, preferably organic, whole, plant-based foods, at least 75 percent of which should be uncooked.
A raw-food eater might enjoy uncooked veggies, fresh and dried fruits, nuts, seeds, seaweed, soaked dried beans, young coconut milk, and sprouted seeds and breads.

With their mild onion flavor and thick white stalk, leeks are one of my favorite vegetables. They're excellent in cold weather preparations like soups, stews, and braises. When cooking with leeks, it's important to take the time to properly clean them.

Earlier this week, I shared the beautiful pumpkin wontons that TeamSugar whipped up for us. A few days after Team posted her recipe, llendril posted hers for Pumpkin Raviolis With Gorgonzola Sauce. I love that, while they're on the opposite ends of the sweet-savory spectrum from each other, they are both beautiful little packets of pumpkin joy.
