Open your tot's taste buds to delicious fresh water creatures! A friend of mine was recently on the eastern shore of Maryland when her family decided to hit up the local crab house for a night of cracking and picking their way through steamed blue crabs. She wasn't sure if her preschooler would enjoy the experience as much as she had as a child until the wooden mallets arrived at the table and his eyes lit up.

From the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience to St. Louis's Rib America Festival, take advantage of the three-day weekend with tons of events across the nation. Since I'm a huge fan of deep Southern cuisine, I'm dreaming of teleporting to Mudbug Madness, the Jambalaya Festival, and the Fredericksburg Crawfish Fest and Gumbo Cookoff.

How do you know that Summer's just a few weeks away? When there's a seemingly endless list of epicurean events and food festivals. We can hardly straddle them all, but have plans to hit up San Francisco Cocktail Week, shake hands with sake brewers at the Joto Sake Tasting, slurp a few slippery ones at Oysterfest, and swirl Sauvignon Blanc at the Uncorked!

Oenophiles, rejoice: This week is packed with wine tastings around the country. Perhaps everyone's gearing up for the holidays, or brainstorming early pairings for Thanksgiving. I'll take the wine, whatever the reason.

I think this guy looks like he belongs on a Christmas tree, but this sea crab is just one of the hundreds of new sea creatures discovered off the coast of Tasmania. From crabs to starfish to octopus, these new species were recorded in two separate mile-deep voyages in 2006 and 2007.
Not only did voyagers find new species of animals under the sea, they also discovered miles of coral that is thought to be about 2,000 years old, providing life and food to many creatures.

I know this is a pretty nauseating topic, but wouldn't you agree that it's better to talk about something gross than to have something gross? If so, listen up, because public lice, also known as crabs, affects more than 6,500 people a year. The best way to prevent yourself from being one of those people is to know the facts.

When you date someone, you're bound to find out about his or her little idiosyncrasies and habits. Maybe they like to floss their teeth while driving, or they have to use the same plate every time they eat. We're all weird in our own ways, but that's what makes us unique and special, right?

Crabs or pubic lice. I don't know which sounds worse. Whatever you choose to call them, little bugs crawling anywhere near my body irks me to no end, but these suckers are actually living on you, and not just in any place - in your special place!
