Victoria Beckham Relaunches Denim Line

Victoria Beckham's DVB line has recently been pushed aside after it faced criticism last year and was dropped from several US stores. It is now returning for Spring 2010 under the name Victoria Beckham Denim. The sharper jeans collection includes ontrend styles like cigarette pants, cut offs and boyfriend jeans which will retail from £140. Earlier this week, Victoria gave us a preview as she stepped out in a pair of paneled skinny jeans. Are you excited to see the return of her denim line?

Get ready to rev up your denim collection. Moto jeans are the latest incarnation, and they're both sassy and sporty. We've seen motorcycle jackets and vests, but cross-stitches and patches on a slick pair of jeans are hard to resist.

My favorite, affordable pick is by Recession Denim - these dark denim Moto jeans with ribbed knit patches are statement jeans if I ever saw them. And, they're under $100. Temper them with a girlie ruffled top or cuddly soft knits - ready, set, moto!

Fashion That Makes Us Sad: $2,000 Jeans!

Just last week we read that the price of designer denim was dropping. Granted, many big name jeans still sell for $200, and some people rationalize that price for a basic wardrobe staple they wear several times a week. I myself have fallen victim to fashion stupidity and shelled out over $200 on Sass & Bide jeans. They're gray stretch denim, and are my favorite pair I've ever owned. Maybe after wearing them for four years non-stop, I might get my money's worth. Though I'm not the type of person who has 40 pairs of jeans, I have about six and wear them to death, so I don't mind spending a little more. That said, the most recent pair I bought cost $70. It is a recession after all! So imagine how annoyed I was to see this new pair of jeans by Acne, adorned with some type of modern body armor, selling for $2,000. Those ridiculous things had better protect you - they cost more than several months rent!

If anyone can lift American spirits, it's Ralph Lauren. On the last (rainy) day of NYFW, his Depression era-inspired collection did, in fact, leave us on a positive note. Blues in all hues, denim, country florals, navy pinstripes, white cotton, and a couple drop-dead gowns were intensely pretty. And those glittering silver shoes - so fresh against tattered railroad denim. In his notes Lauren said, "I am inspired by the character of the workers, the farmer, the cowboy, the pioneer women of the prairies living authentically through challenging times." History repeats itself; fashion to the rescue.

Paige Lou Lou Tulip Jeans Land Exclusively at Ron Herman

Paige Premium Denim has been working for months on its new style of jean - the Lou Lou Tulip Ankle Flare Jean ($199). It's three parts skinny jean and one part flare, which means the leg is super fitted all the way down through the calf like a skinny and then flared right before the ankle. It's nicknamed the tulip for its upside down take on the flower. Two washes are currently available exclusively at Ron Herman. "Denim trends are constantly evolving. Our mission is to create new classics and the Lou Lou jean is a true original that fits," said designer Paige Adams-Geller. Do you dig it?
