Move over Seabiscuit, it's Secretariat's time to shine on the big screen. The story of 1973 Triple Crown-winning racehorse Secretariat and his owner, Penny Chenery, is deemed "a real underdog story" and filmmakers have
cast Diane Lane to play Chenery, the "first lady of racing" in a movie about the horse. Chenery is "a mother and housewife who knew little about horse racing when she took over her ailing father's farm in Virginia.

Diane Lane sounds perfect for this role. And, yes, I had a few of those plastic horses when I was younger. Don't know if they were Breyer, though.
1I too adore Diane Lane.
I can remember this horse, from when I was a kid.
Didn't have any Breyer horses, but my Gramma had a whole cabinet of china ones.
2Diane Lane has class, is very beautiful and always brings such subtle vulnerability to her roles. I love her.
3What a great role for her to play! Definitely had the Secretariat Breyer model horse, was one of my favorites. Still have Secretariat, along with Sea Biscuit and many others in my mother's attic stored away!
4i love Diane and i love Secretariat's story!! my family is full of horse racing nut's, so i've always been around it. yay!
5I have the Man O War model, but not Secretariat... I must search Ebay now! I'm very interested in the movie and love Diane Lane in almost anything she's in...........a great combination!
