Move over Seabiscuit, it's Secretariat's time to shine on the big screen. The story of 1973 Triple Crown-winning racehorse Secretariat and his owner, Penny Chenery, is deemed "a real underdog story" and filmmakers have cast Diane Lane to play Chenery, the "first lady of racing" in a movie about the horse. Chenery is "a mother and housewife who knew little about horse racing when she took over her ailing father's farm in Virginia.

After the big show in the Kodak Theater, the first stop for many of the attendees was the Governors Ball. Along with attending this year's Oscars via the red carpet and the press room, we were fortunate enough to have a ticket to the fancy affair. While on the inside we watched the celebrities feast on their Wolfgang Puck meal set in the Asian-themed room decor.

A red carpet without jewelry is like a candy store without, well, candy. Large earrings may be making their mark in the fashion world, but that doesn't mean statement necklaces are over. No, no.

What I like most about a red lip is that it doesn't have to be too fussy, as the ladies of the 2009 red carpet prove. Whether it was subtle and matte like Anne Hathaway or bold and raspberry-toned à la Alicia Keys, it just goes to show you that red-toned lipstick is always en vogue. Check out my slideshow to see how these actresses worked just about every shade of red.

Despite rumors that Graydon Carter was scaling things back for this year's Vanity Fair Oscars party, the soiree was as A-List as ever at its new venue the Sunset Towers. Jennifer Aniston could relax after her presenting duties, and when she and John Mayer hit the party, they couldn't keep their hands off each other. The couple cuddled up every chance they got, and he twittered a sweet message about her.

You've seen all the winners, and we all know that the second most important thing on Oscar night is the dresses. There was a beautiful mix of colours on the red carpet last night, with some sticking to muted tones in whites and pale creams, pinks and champagnes like Anne Hathaway, Melissa George, Penelope Cruz, Evan Rachel Wood, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Biel. Once you've checked out the gallery let me know which one's your favourite!

The women wore a variety of colors on the red carpet but one thing was clear on Hollywood's biggest night — they were all glowing. Colors ranged from beautiful blue, which was worn by the lovely Freida Pinto, pretty pink on petite Natalie Portman and ravishing reds as seen on Amy Adams and Heidi Klum. Some looked like princesses in their full gowns like Sarah Jessica Parker and Miley Cyrus.

Diane Lane, an accomplished actress in her own right, walked the red carpet in support of her husband Josh Brolin, who is nominated tonight for his performance in Milk. No shrinking violet, Diane stood out on her own thanks to her strapless black dress, beautiful costume necklace, and overall hair-and-makeup look. Her wavy curls were put up, which placed the focus on her face.

Charlize Theron joined forces with Diane Lane and Josh Brolin in LA on Thursday night for the launch of the BRANDAID Foundation, which will send money to support Haitian artists. Current Oscar nominee Josh struck a few poses with past winner Charlize, while two of the Best Supporting Actress Nominees, Taraji P. Henson and Marisa Tomei, posed for photos and made their way around the room.
