Lack of body or too much frizz: "Most people fall into one [category] or the other," explains hair guru John Frieda. The solution? "A product and a technique," he says. In the 1970s and 1980s, when Frieda first started out, the majority of the products available were just for body and volume. If you had any issues with frizziness, as 60 percent of women do, you couldn't turn to your favorite anti-frizz serum or cream to quell the problem, as those types of products just didn't exist quite the way they do today. Who ever said that glittery makeup is only reserved for the middle-school crowd? At last night's New York premiere of Amelia, it definitely wasn't Hilary Swank. Wearing an unexpected silvery-blue shadow on both her upper and lower lash lines to coordinate with her steely blue-green gown, Hilary proves that sparkling, shimmery finishes don't have to look cheesy. In fact, the cool-based shade complements her brown eyes nicely. While the general rule of thumb is to pair a bold eye with a subdued lip, I'm all for breaking rules, but when glitter is involved, less is better. The penultimate series of Big Brother came to a close on Friday night with Sophie Reade being announced as the winner. Fab Finding Follow-Up: Sunny Santa Cruz

Lucky for me, Santa Cruz is just one(ish) hour away, so a day-trip is super easy. A friend invited me to head down there with her last weekend for a day of shopping and chilling - we had so much fun! As predicted, the temperature was in the mid-70s so I needed you to help me put together a cute, layered outfit. I was thinking something floaty and definitely a hat.

Love it or Hate it: Sophie Ellis Bextor at Vauxhall Skate

Sneak Preview: Beth Ditto for Evans

Yesterday morning I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of Beth Ditto's long awaited collection for Evans. She has become synoymous with her outrageous stage style and has finally offered the general public a chance to copy her looks. The capsule range is available in sizes 14 to 32, and she has considered how to make the items more flattering. For example, there are a couple of pairs of leggings with a high waist to avoid the dreaded muffin top.

There is definitely an '80s influence to the pieces which have a dark colour base with a lot of applique sequins to give a disco vibe. Although the pieces are designed for a size 14 +, smaller sized girls could definitely wear the jumper dresses or t-shirts as oversized pieces which hang off the shoulder.

As well as clothing, there are a few accessories which make up the collection including a Lulu Guinness style clutch, brothel creeper flats and a handbag. Beth models the pieces in the ad campaign which was shot by Rankin and features the gorgeous Beth doll!

Head of Design for Evans Lisa Marie co-designed the collection with Beth and spoke to CatwalkQueen about the process. She explained, "You can tell she was really into fashion, as she kept bringing these vintage pieces she didn't wear but had bought for the print, or the colour." Beth's debut collection hits stores and online on 9th July.

Love It or Hate It? Mirror Tiled Steps

You all seemed to love the tiled text staircase I showed you, which makes me think you may warm up to these mirror tiled steps. I think the juxtaposition of the old, wooden banister and the small mirrored tiles makes this look work. But on a modern staircase, it might look tacky and too disco. You must admit the light reflected by the tiles is beautiful, though. It's a good thing the tiles are petite, so you can't actually see your own reflection. What do you say? Yea or nay?

LC, Kim, and More Do Their Best Roller Girl Impressions

A bunch of celebs took a break from the typical Hollywood nightlife to go retro at the Pepsi Throwback at World on Wheels roller skating party in LA last night. Lauren Conrad skated carefully and even took photos for her Twitter while her pals Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt wiped out a few times. Kim Kardashian really got into the roller disco spirit, showing off the body she's so proud of in leggings along with her sister Khloe. All in all it looks like there were more smiles than spills throughout the night.

American Idol Gets Disco Fever

Last night it was time for disco on American Idol, and thankfully the final seven managed to mix it up a bit and find their own way to take on the genre - phew. Lil Rounds kicked off the evening with a lackluster "I'm Every Woman," and the judges are so over her they barely even commented other than to say it was another disappointment. Kris Allen went next and was able to kick the energy up a notch with "She Works Hard For the Money," which got pretty great reviews across the board. Paula managed to confuse everyone, Simon especially, by saying that Kris "shopped in the women's section." Despite Paula's rambling, Simon managed to say that he loved it. Kris is getting stronger by the week, and hopefully this means we'll see him get closer to the top.

Up third was Danny Gokey, who might have a loyal following and perfect pitch but still seemed a little cheesy belting out "September." It was a wonder Allison Iraheta didn't fall over in those sky-high heels, and despite some of the judges not loving her arrangement of "Hot Stuff," Simon called it brilliant.

Adam is ever the strategist and, after last week's big performance, toned it back a little bit to impress the judges with his take on "If I Can't Have You" from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. As usual, his vocal range impressed the judges, who sometimes seem like they're ready to give him the title right then and there, before thanking the man who helped him come up with such an inspired arrangement. Matt Giraud chose an apt song after being saved last week - "Stayin' Alive." He did his best JT impression, though it wasn't enough to wow all the judges. The final singer for the night was Anoop Desai with "Dim All The Lights." He looked great in his suit with pink tie and sweater, but in general the performance was blah. As for the bottom three? I'm thinking Lil Rounds, Anoop Desai, and Mat Giraud again. Going home: Lil and Anoop.
