Love It or Leave It? Disney-Inspired Engagement Rings

Some girls never let go of their wish to be princesses, and thanks to designer Kristie Kelly, they don't have to. The Kirstie Kelly for Disney by Mouwad collection, shown at Bridal Week in New York, features six engagement rings and wedding bands that pay homage to Disney's leading princesses.

The engagement rings, named after Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, and Belle are supposed to be "subtle references to the personalities of each princess." For example, the baguettes and clean lines of the Ariel ring are supposed to reference the bold style of art deco and Ariel's "bold individuality."

Although I was never a fan of princesses, have no plans of getting married anytime soon, and would feel sheepish taking a leap into adulthood wearing a Disney-inspired engagement ring, I do fancy the look of the Sleeping Beauty ring. What do you feel about this collection?

Disney Debuts Computer-Based DIY Thrill Ride

The joy of playing roller coaster Tycoon on the PC is that you get to create the roller coaster of your dreams. You know, the kind you were always too short to ride as a kid? But at Walt Disney World in Florida, Mickey is taking things one step further and letting you design your own actual roller coaster, and then setting you off in a virtual world to enjoy it.

Called "The Sum of All Thrills", this DIY experience has you choosing dips, turns, and loops on a computer tablet, then hopping into a robotic car to test your creation. I'm in love with this idea, since there are an endless combination of possibilities, meaning you'll probably never get the same ride twice. However, this doesn't mean that I would replace the thrill of a regular roller coaster with a VR one on a regular basis. The good news for us coaster fans is that VR rides are pretty expensive to produce. Personally, I think traditional roller coasters are here to stay, and virtual coasters are just the icing on the cake.

Etsy Find: Cool Vinyl Laptop Decals

If the Twilight laptop skin isn't your thing, then maybe this selection of cool and geeky ones will be. I first found this awesome Snow White laptop decal (which reminded me of yet another Twilight-themed decal), which incorporates your Apple logo into the piece. But then I kept browsing the shop and got hooked on all of the totally geeky decals, which can be used on your laptop, your Kindle, your walls, or wherever you want to stick 'em.

Good news is that these decals were made to be attached and then pulled off later, so you won't have any sticky residue after you've outgrown your artsy vinyl. Plus, with prices starting at $13 each, you can't really go wrong. Check out a few more of my faves below!

Once upon a time there was an adorable little girl who loved fairy tales, happy endings and Disney princesses. What did she want to be for Halloween? Why Bella, Cinderella, Snow White or the Little Mermaid, naturally!

Like their inspiration, Disney princess costumes are always a classic. You can make your darling's wishes come true with an official Disney costume (they sure know how to make a mama's life easy!) or make your own using the character's token colors and style. Either way, she'll be the Bella of the ball.

LeapFrog's Zippity Brings Full-Body Gaming to Preschoolers

Dance Dance Revolution sparked a worldwide rhythm and dance craze when it launched in Japan a decade ago. Since then, game console manufacturers like Nintendo and Sony have created dozens of videos merging exercise and gaming for adults and teens alike. With the Zippity Learning System ($80), LeapFrog delivers the concept to the preschool set.

The TV-based gaming system brings some of The Disney Channel's most popular characters – like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, Winnie the Pooh and Handy Manny – to combine upper- and lower-body movements with educational concepts.

The Zippity system allows kids to choose from eight games that either use an interactive mat for lower-body movement or a waist-high joystick for upper-body activity. The games, such as a Mickey Mouse version of Simon Says and a Handy Manny version of song creation, encourage number, shape, directional and color recognition. While some of the games are more movement-oriented than others, they all do encourage the participant to be active. The great graphics and variety of games are perhaps the best features of the system, as lil ones can work on several different skills throughout their play. Each game has two levels of play, meaning the system is designed to grow with them – but we found that a 3-year-old was already well-advanced for the first level of most of the included games, leaving us wondering just how long he would be able to play with a set geared toward 3-6-year-olds.

The Princess and the Frog Looks Funny, Happy and Sweet

It was cool to get a glimpse of The Princess and the Frog back in May, but half of that video was simply about how great Disney is in general. Now there's a full-length trailer for the animated movie and it looks like Disney really is returning to the kinds of hand-drawn musical movies I so cherished when I was a kid. We have yet another Disney princess, Princess Tiana, but the similarities between this story and any of the others before it stop there. Set in New Orleans' French Quarter during the Jazz Age, the story is a spin on the old princess and the frog fairy tale.

The clean, vibrant animation and showstopping tunes make me feel a little nostalgic for my own childhood. So cute! The Princess and the Frog opens Dec. 11, and to check out the new trailer, read more.

Tweens Can Rock Disney Duds As They Head Back to School

If you have school aged children, especially tweens, the Mouse has probably taken over your television set and CD player. Now, prepare for The Jonas Brothers and The Wizards of Waverly Place to take over your kiddo's closet. Yesterday, Disney debuted it's back to school line of Ivy League and Boho Chic duds inspired by the popular shows. There are also school supplies and accessories to fill up your youngster's desk or locker. The reasonably priced items hit shelves this month at JC Penney, Kmart, Sears, Walmart, Target and DisneyStore.com.

Buzz In: Which Animated Movies Made You Cry?

As many of you likely discovered over the weekend, Pixar's new blockbuster Up is a total tearjerker. Who would have thought a funny-looking movie about a grumpy old man, talking dogs, and an inquisitive little kid could make me bawl like a baby?!

I was wondering how little kids are handling some of the sad scenes in Up, and then I remembered that animated movies have been making kids (including me) cry for years now. An obvious example is Bambi with - spoiler alert! Ha ha - the mom dying and all. Personally, I will never ever ~~forgive~~ forget the brutal emotional experience of watching Mufasa plummet to his death as his little baby cub looks on in The Lion King. Seriously, when it comes to this scene, I still cannot keep the tears back.
