Burlesque star Dita Von Teese has a complete Hollywood persona. This is the first time I've ever seen her without makeup on. I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised how pretty and, dare I say "sweet" she looks.

As fun as playing with trends can be, sometimes I think it's time to start developing a signature beauty look – such as always sporting plum lipstick, or wearing gold nail polish on my toes, no matter what the occasion.
Dita Von Teese is known for her retro signature beauty look – pale creamy skin and red lipstick, while Kate Moss always wears her hair tousled with natural makeup, adding just a hint of brown eyeliner and peachy blush for nights out.
Do you have a signature makeup look?

Model and actress Dita Von Teese is known for her distinctive retro glamour looks. From the bold red lips to her porcelain skin to her old-school waved hairstyles, there is no denying that Dita always looks perfectly pulled together.
Recently, after perusing her Twitter feed, I discovered some of her beauty secrets she's posted throughout the past few weeks, many responses from questions posed by her followers.

New York was host to the Fashion International 26th Annual Night of Stars last night, where a number of celebs dressed up to walk the red carpet. Gwen Stefani looked stunning in her black dress, ditching the red lips for a night and going with nude makeup that really softened her look, Evan Rachel Wood looked great in her floor length red dress, while Eva Mendes looked a little more casual in a shorter dress with pockets — she then went on to another event in the city and FabUK wants to know if you love or hate her look. Dita von Teese looked groomed to perfection as always in her black dress, while Mark Ronson, Alex Greenwald and James Franco were among the men suiting up for the occasion.

As the days and nights get colder that fresh-faced, just-a-touch-of-tinted-moisturiser look simply won't cut it anymore. It's time to get serious and sort out your foundation. I've found that this is one beauty product that most of us are willing to fork out for, yet it's still tricky to get right.

Grey was the colour du jour yesterday at Paris Fashion Week, as Brits Lily Allen and Emma Watson proved it needn't be dull as they joined Marion Cotillard on her home turf for the Dior show. If you love the French woman's style check out my girl FabUK; she's got Marion's look for less. Monochrome was the name of the game at PFW over the weekend, but Milla Jovovich brightened up yesterday with her yellow bag.

Tanning wasn't always popular, but then Coco Chanel decided to go on vacation. The rest is history: After returning from holiday with a sun-kissed glow, people put away their sun-shelter umbrellas and basked in the UV rays. Mademoiselle Chanel created a suncare cosmetic line in 1929, and 80 years later, it has inspired the summer Côte D'Azur makeup collection.

Last week, I had a real treat: I was able to interview the incomparable Dita Von Teese before her burlesque performance at Macy's Passport in San Francisco. Passport is a fundraiser for HIV/AIDS research, so it made perfect sense to have Dita appear. She's the face of MAC's Viva Glam campaign, which has raised—get this—nearly $100 million to fight the disease.

Following her own lead at the 2009 Golden Globes, Evan Rachel Wood continues to look less like Dita Von Teese and more like a screen goddess from the '30s. At tonight's SAG Awards, she wore her vibrant red hair in big, glamorous waves and went just as dramatic with the makeup. She allowed the lips to be the focus with an even stronger red color, with slightly subtler rosy cheeks and a strong eye.
