Miss Potter figured out how to paw open the screen door and let herself into the house. But all the other household dogs, who are not as talented but just as smart, make a habit of sweeping into the house when our gal gets the door ajar — leaving only enough time for the door to slam shut in her face. Miss Potter needs to do less opening and more barking, if you ask me.

In the midst of the only Friday the 13th slated for the year 2008, cross in front of those black cats and shatter those mirrors with abandon — Dutch statisticians have cleared the unlucky rep. They've found that Fridays that fall on the 13th are actually safer than their 51 non-spooky cousins. The study shows that fewer accidents and reports of fire and theft occur on the big day than any other — and they're not sure just why.

Katie Holmes looked festive as she exited her NYC apartment and flashed her signature sweet smile to the doorman. It's prime time for anything red — Katie rocked her red skinny jeans with ease. She kept the rest of her look equally stylish via a cozy ivory sweater, a black scarf, black booties, and thin teardrop earrings.

If you follow Gossip Girl, you may have noticed that the Humphreys, the token "pauvre" family, live in a killer converted Brooklyn loft that by the standards of most (perhaps not Park Avenue ladies who lunch) would be considered a Coveted Crib. Though it may not come complete with a doorman and an elevator (to get stuck in!), it's a massive space with gorgeous colored window panes, loads of rad midcentury furniture and artwork (thanks to Rufus's keen gallerist eye), and a garage door wall! How funky is that?

According to Big Time, funny woman Amy Sedaris has forked over $1.3 million for a 900-square-foot, 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo in Manhattan's West Village. She must have been charmed by the property, as she paid $50k over the asking price. The listing for the property reads:

First things first, Baby Mama ain't rocket science. And why should it be? It's a likeable, smile-inducing comedy with a couple of super-talented ladies at the helm: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
