Otte in New York has three fabulous locations, but if you can't stop in, be sure to peruse its online store. The sale section currently houses tons of designer duds for way less. I never tire of boutique parties. There's always amazing eye candy, yummy apps, and irresistible bubbly involved. A couple weeks ago, I attended an Armani party. The SF store had a special retrospective on gowns worn at awards shows and red carpet events - 'twas amazing. It was Armani, so I needed you to help me put together a simultaneously chic yet fun ensemble. Speaking of red carpet fashion, check out my Red Carpet Faceoff game - fun!

I started you off with these Emporio Armani Quartz and Pearl Earrings ($110). They're the ideal combination of sophistication and pizzazz. Let's see your creations!

Fab Tip: Lacquer Those Jewels

Nail polish is created to color nails - we all know this. But that's not its sole purpose. Have you ever considered using nail polish to liven up your jewels? I have a friend who uses it to spice up her earrings - like these Mini Hearts Studs ($14) - and the result is pretty fabulous. If you're interested, the process is rather painless.

Start with smooth-surfaced jewelry (earrings work best but rings, bangles, and necklaces are doable too) to work with. Make sure your item doesn't have rhinestones or a rocky surface.
If you're going to paint with a light nail polish color, it's preferable to use silver or white jewelry. Dark polishes like red and hot yellow work fine on gold.
Now it's time to start painting your earrings with the nail polish of your choice. Apply evenly and use two to three coats to avoid chipping.
Allow to dry for about 30 minutes.
Though not required, you can add a coat of clear polish for extra shine or glitter polish for pizzazz.

Last weekend, I headed to the exclusive King Tut exhibit at the de Young Museum here in SF - so exciting. I saw Tutankhamun's tomb, ancient artifacts, and precious objects relating to the 18th dynasty. Cool, huh? My educational self-immersion took a whole day, so I needed you to put together a sleek ensemble that would withstand a lot of walking and staring.

I started you off with these Giles & Brother Tiny Pyramid Stud Earrings ($78) because they're an ode to beautiful, ancient Egypt. Let's see what you came up with!
