Love It or Leave It? Disney-Inspired Engagement Rings

Some girls never let go of their wish to be princesses, and thanks to designer Kristie Kelly, they don't have to. The Kirstie Kelly for Disney by Mouwad collection, shown at Bridal Week in New York, features six engagement rings and wedding bands that pay homage to Disney's leading princesses.

The engagement rings, named after Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, and Belle are supposed to be "subtle references to the personalities of each princess." For example, the baguettes and clean lines of the Ariel ring are supposed to reference the bold style of art deco and Ariel's "bold individuality."

Although I was never a fan of princesses, have no plans of getting married anytime soon, and would feel sheepish taking a leap into adulthood wearing a Disney-inspired engagement ring, I do fancy the look of the Sleeping Beauty ring. What do you feel about this collection?

Group Therapy: He Mentioned Marriage - Now What?

My boyfriend and I have discussed getting married before, but nothing real heavy and then last night he told me outright that he wanted to marry me. I was excited, but wondered what made him bring it up out of nowhere. He told me that the longer we are together, the more it makes him realize that he wants to be with me. I'm wondering if I should now be waiting for a proposal, and if so, what are some easy ways for me to help him pick out a ring without him knowing that I know he is about to pop the question? If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it!

Awkward! Reusing a Ring Designed For a Previous Engagement

An engagement ring has so much symbolic value that people often get a little obsessed with its design, cost, and the method in which it's presented. A reader writes in with the following question:

"I was previously engaged and the engagement was broken. The ring that I wore was one that I designed with my mother and grandmother to become a family heirloom and was purchased by my family. My ex had nothing to do with the picking out or paying for the ring.

I am now in a relationship with someone else and we have been discussing marriage. He knows about the ring that my mother now has and has no objection to giving it to me if we were to get engaged. We have also discussed getting it engraved or adding a band to it. Is it tacky to 'reuse' this ring?"

What do you think - is it OK for her to reuse this ring? Any engagement ring sagas to share?

USB Engagement Ring: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

Well, the good news is, it's definitely a conflict-free diamond! This USB stick/engagement ring combo is for the geekiest among us. . . Those who would prefer their geek lover's declaration of intent of lifelong commitment be represented not by an expensive diamond ring, but by a Swarovski crystal and data-full USB ring.

Think of the possibilities! All your pictures and planning info for the wedding could be on the stick. It's not yet in production, but if it were, I'd give it as a gift to my engaged friends. I think you'd really only be in trouble if you subbed this for the actual engagement ring, but aside from that, it's a cute wink to geeky betrothed girls - what do you think?
