Better Than Lollipops: Crispy Rice Treats on Sticks

At a baby shower this year, LilSugar sent everyone home with the most clever party favors: crispy rice treats on a stick! They were the perfect parting gift at the shower, but, when adorned with color-coordinated orange sprinkles and ribbons, they'd also make a charming alternative to serve trick-or-treaters on Halloween.

This delight takes less than 10 minutes to come together on the stove top. Evenly press the mixture into a pan coated with cooking spray, and let cool for about five minutes. Cut them to uniform size, roll each into the shape of a ball, and insert sticks through the middle. Wrap treats in individual cellophane bags, and tie with a pretty ribbon.

Champagne Stopper Is the Perfect Little Party Gift

I'm always on the look out for new gift ideas because it's nice to give something other than a candle. When there's not enough time to make an edible treat, I like to give girlfriends and couples this fabulous Champagne stopper. It's incredibly useful and not an item most people already have.

Oh and did I mention it's affordable? At $7.00 a pop, it's hard to believe this stopper was specially crafted for the Bubble Lounge. It keeps bubbly fresh for days and fits easily in a utensil drawer. The stopper would make a great party favor, addition to a goodie bag, or thank-you for a bridesmaid. Multiples Baby Shower: Favors

For lilsugar's last week of extensive baby shower coverage, we're celebrating the birth of multiples! While twosomes seem to be more normal these days, celebrating their arrival should be anything but common.

Keeping with the bird theme, I've filled cellophane bags with delicious toasted coconut and seedy trail mix to create a nest appearance. What can often be found in a nest? Gummy worms and colorful jelly beans, of course. Seal the bag with soft toned ribbons and leave them in a basket by the front door. Guests will delight in the sweet and salty stash for their ride home.

Sibling Shower: Favors

Once the sibling-to-be has been celebrated, the babes in blankets have been enjoyed and baby bingo has been played, it's time to bid the wee guests goodbye with a parting gift. In lieu of loot bags of plastic goodies, opt to tempt tots' taste buds with a crunchy chocolaty treat - hand dipped chocolate pretzel sticks.

This favor can be made up a couple of days in advance. Purchase pretzel rods, chocolate chips or disks and sprinkles. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, then dip the rods in the sweet partially covering them and then shake with colored sugar or sprinkles for a decorative touch. Place them on a greased baking sheet and allow them to firm up. After, portion a handful of the finished treats into cellophane bags and tie them off with a ribbon.

Fabulous Favor Idea: Color-Coded Candy

Last night I went to a fashion party at Carrots with FabSugar, and I came across the cutest favor idea: color-coded candy! The boutique always decorates in orange and they carried the theme over to create a gorgeously delectable candy spread. I plan on re-creating the idea for an upcoming party. You can, too! Start by collecting an assortment of clear, glass vases in different sizes and shapes. Cheap vases can be found at Michaels and Ikea.
Pick out a bunch of candy in the same color. For example, if red is the color for your bridal shower get skittles, red M&Ms, red starbursts, red malt balls, Hot Tamales, red licorice, etc. Heading to a local candy shop is a great way to get inspired or check out the Halloween aisle of your favorite drugstore.
Fill the vases with the candy, one sweet per vase.
Arrange the vases on a large table. Place some on stacks of magazines or turned-over bowls to add depth to the display.
Stack empty white Chinese takeout containers nearby.
Invite guests to take home a container of candy!

Wouldn't a color-coded candy display be fabulous fun at a baby shower or wedding?!

Come Party With Me: Bachelorette Party - Music & More

The clock is ticking for the soon-to-be married Julie. She has time for one last fling before she faces the ring and this week I'm helping her maid of honor with a complete bachelorette party plan. It's going to be an amazing and memorable event, complete with a strip class, finger foods, slutty cocktails, and a boa-laced look (hopefully without much of a hangover!). Having a great soundtrack of girlie songs will only enhance the entire experience. Burn copies of your playlist onto a cd and include them in the goodie bags for all of your gal pals. BuzzSugar has created a bachelorette party playlist with a no boys allowed theme. A few years ago I helped my bff Melissa put together a bachelorette party for her older sister. Melissa made a special cd with girl power songs like Cyndi Lauper's classic, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, the Beastie Boys Girls, Lil' Kim's Ladies Night, Black Eyed Peas' My Humps, Pussy Cat Dolls Don't Cha, Destiny's Child's Independent Women and Bootylicious, These Boots Were Made For Walkin, Like A Virgin (or your favorite Madonna), and I Know What Boys Like. Use your creativity and include all of the songs that make you feel empowered as a female, make you and our gals sing at the top of your lungs and make you a dancing machine.

For the favors provide girls with items they can use throughout the evening and those they can enjoy in the future and lovingly remember the party. Besides the cds discussed above (make a cute label with the date, location, and colors of the party) and a bottle of Bitch Wine, great goodies for the goodie bags are:

I'm providing her with plenty of inspirational ideas to ensure she has months of stress-free planning ahead of her. I love the idea of a favor that is actually something your guests can use in their everyday life. Celebrity_soup must feel the same way because she found this chrome (love) letter opener. A letter opener is an item that nobody really buys themselves, but if everyone had one they would use it on a daily basis making it the perfect favor.

2-In-1 Votive Decoration/Favor

If you are looking for a way to cut costs on your wedding think about using a favor that doubles as a decoration like these fabulous frosted beaded tea light holders. They come in a variety of colors and can add a touch of glowing light to a table. Place each one on the guests' plates and they will know that when the night is over they can blow the candle out and take the votive home. A useful favor that both you and your guests can enjoy. Or if you prefer to give out other favors arrange these candles around a vase filled with flowers on top of a mirror for a beautiful and simple yet stunning centerpiece. Can't afford tons of flowers for each table, create the same effect with the mirror and votives and scatter rose petals (which you can get day old from the florists) in between the votives.
