Playaway is books on tape meets MP3 players meets fitness and health. Confused yet? Let me explain.

As far as I knew, literary characters already came in all different shapes and sizes, but apparently there's a "publishing phenomenon" sweeping America like a fad diet: curvy chick lit characters who fully accept their weight.
The UK Guardian explains that average-sized women want to relate to the heroines they read about — and they don't want the stories to be all about dieting. Titles that fit under the "big chit lit" umbrella include The Wife's Tale, a book about a woman who turns her life around (not by losing weight!) after her universe shrunk "to a well-worn path from the bedroom to the refrigerator," and Last-Minute Proposal, the story of cake-baker Tilly and the man who loves her cozy curves.

As I've mentioned in the past, I'm a huge fan of the new CBS series The Good Wife. In particular, I adore Alicia Florrick's (Julianna Margulies) apartment. With classic styling and great use of color, it's definitely a look I'm currently coveting.

If you're lucky enough to be spending some time in the City of Lights this summer, you may find yourself indulging in some tasty pain au chocolat and vin rouge. This is great, but if you want to fit into all the très chic clothing you just picked up when you get home, you may want to check out this book before you travel.
The very first book in the TravelFit Guides series, TravelFit Paris ($10.17) is a great guide book for the fit and health-conscious traveler in Paris.

I am a big fan of journaling and writing things down to keep tally on emotions and food consumption. One area of your life you may have not considered starting a journal for is fitness.
If I don't keep a journal I have a hard time progressing on a daily basis in my goals, so in my own fitness journal I like to keep record of things such as:
- Duration and intensity
- Distance and route
- Feelings before and after
- Hurdles and accomplishments
- Goals and rewards
However, if you're the type of person who needs things more laid out for you than just jotting the above things in a notebook, then think about getting a fitness diary or journal.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, staying fit while on the road is tough.
Fit For Travelers ($14.00) by Eide is a great tool for anyone on the go. The book includes a free stretch, exercise band with a guide explaining and illustrating 20 exercises.

Have you heard about the Twilight diet? At first I thought it was a term Twilighters — aka die-hard Twilight fans — used to describe their voracious appetites for all things Edward and Bella — books, movies, pictures, life-size Robert Pattinson cutouts — but it's actually related to food. Twilight vernacular is everywhere, even in the world of health and fitness.

I find practicing yoga regularly helps keep me feeling centered, both physically and mentally. But that doesn't mean you need to do yoga solo. Partner yoga can be often be twice as fun and more enriching.

Hi Casa,
We've just recently adopted an adorable puppy, and we're having a great time with her. The only problem is she's taken over the house! We had to move and hide anything she might eat or chew, so our living room and bookcases look empty.
