FABTV: Fleetwood Mac Live "Rhiannon"

This week I saw Fleetwood Mac live for the first time - and it won't be the last. I went through a FM period in college, but I didn't expect to be so mesmerized. Touted as one of the most incestuous and drama-filled groups - I mean, it was the '70s and they were all hot - the remaining members are the majestic Stevie Nicks, silly drummer man Mick Fleetwood, the electric Lindsey Buckingham, and bassist John McVie. You all know who my eyes were on all night. Stevie is the coolest - what I would give to raid her costume trunk. My favorite song performed was "Gold Dust Woman." She put on this special beaded gold shawl for it - oh, and by the end of the night, she was wearing a top hat. If you've never seen FM live, I found a gem of a performance of "Rihannon." Stevie really flies and her sheer black getup is totally awesome. Rock on . . .

Designer Spotlight: Kristen Buckingham

Blending family-friendly coziness, rocker chic, and Bohemian sensibilities seems only fitting for designer Kristen Buckingham. She is, after all, married to Lindsey Buckingham, guitarist for Fleetwood Mac. The Buckinghams' home is featured in the current issue of Elle Decor, and showcases Kristen's unique decorating style.

Kristen started off her professional life as a portrait photographer, and now has channeled her energies into interior and product design. Their Los Angeles home, which they share with their three children and multiple pets, serves as a design lab of sorts for Kristen's ideas.

Kristen's designs draw from numerous sources, and I admire her bold use of pattern, such as pairing striped wallpaper with a striped upholstered chair. Just ask Stevie Nicks (or this flawless Lucy Lawless version of her on SNL), who has cleaned up and rediscovered herself in the Tex-Mex food biz. She's also added a bit of salsa to some of those old songs we know and love, and now they're muy caliente!

Nicole, Jen, and Courteney Are Fleetwood Mac Fans

The Staples Center is used to hosting a lot of celebrities for Lakers games, but last night there was a new set of famous faces out for the Fleetwood Mac concert. Jennifer Aniston was back on the West Coast after filming The Baster in NYC, joining her BFF Courteney Cox and David Arquette to watch Stevie Nicks and the band. Nicole Richie skipped out on watching her Larry King Live interview and instead tweeted excitedly from the audience with her friend Hayden. Aniston may not be the next star to jump on the Twitter bandwagon, but she is helping use the tool for a good cause - she's participating in a Twitterhunt against cancer where signed t-shirts will be hidden around the country for followers of Stand Up 2 Cancer's feed to find.

Gwen and Gavin Join Forces For the Bridge School Benefit

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale usually join forces on the playground or at the beach with their boys but on Sunday they both hit the stage for the 23rd Annual Bridge School Benefit in Northern California. Gavin opened the Neil Young sponsored concert with the Fleetwood Mac classic, "Landslide" and was later followed by Gwen and the rest of No Doubt who performed a set of their biggest hits. She had on her staple, neon lingerie, and another hot black mini-skirt ensemble. Kingston has seen both his parents perform tons of times, and he hung out in dad's arms when Gwen was on stage before the trio returned home to LA yesterday.

Stevie Nicks Uses the Power Plate to Stay in Shape

Cindy Crawford isn't the only hot mama who mixes in the Power Plate to her workouts. Still rocking 60-year-old Stevie Nicks credits her fit-for-touring physique to the vibrating device that she uses for 13 minutes every other day. She notes, "You can't get results faster than that."

The Power Plate made its debut into the fitness world back in 2006, and its growing popularity is evident in the number of mainstream gyms that now offer this piece of equipment. People have reacted positively to the efficient workout that claims to cause "rapid and intense muscle contractions 30-50 times per second."

Ms. Fleetwood Mac complements her Power Plate fitness fixation with a healthy attitude toward weight. She suggests striving to achieve a weight that's maintainable, saying, "You don't have to weigh 105 lbs. Weigh 125 lbs. and stay there."

New York Fashion Week, Fall 2008: 3.1 Phillip Lim

When Phillip Lim is inspired by David Bowie's character The Man Who Fell to Earth and Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, the resulting collection is full of sheer fabrics, satin, Swarovski crystals dotted here and there, and even a little glam gold.

The hems are much more modest on this Lim collection than they have been in the past: the skirts and dresses all hit right at knee-length, if not below. The matronly feel was carried through with long, loose granny cardigans. But Phillip kept his label's cohesiveness, focusing on solid, classic pieces with a contemporary flair. Pants were cropped, jackets boxy, jewelry Marni-esque. And the palette was typically neutral, interrupted by punches of Fall-worthy turquoise or burnt orange.

I can't say this is my favorite Lim outing, but here's to hoping he will refine the pieces before they hit the racks!

Thank You For Helping Me Thank My Parents!

I can't thank you guys enough for helping me do my Valentine's Day shopping. Together, we've picked out sweet stuff for boyfriends and girlfriends, and now I'm rounding up the great suggestions for parents this V-Day. My low-tech-but-learning folks would appreciate a lot of this stuff, and I think the best solution is this iPod RoadTrip by Griffin!

Since they both have iPods and spend a lot of time in the car, they could use this adapter to listen to their tunes (Fleetwood Mac and Bob Dylan fans, the both of them), plus this adapter charges and cradles their iPods. Plus, it's pretty basic so I don't foresee this gadget sitting around months later, still in its packaging!

Mischa Struts Her High-Waisted Stuff

Mischa continued her reign of high-waisted mom jeans terror while out and about in London this week. Now, don't get us wrong, some people can totally rock this trend. But seeing as this is strike two for Mischa, we're beginning to think she's just not one of them. We respect that Mischa is so daring with her fashion choices, but she needs to let this one go - now... along with her new favorite Fleetwood Mac shirt.
