It's no secret that I'm a huge Liz Earle fan. Besides adorning her face, bath and body products, I often turn to her books for at home remedies and advice on essential oils. So when I heard that she was launching her first ever fragrance after three years in development called Botanical Essence No.

Fab told me that hats are big these days, but I thought it would be difficult to work that look outside of a fashion show. But there they were at last night's Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party. Hilary Duff wore a floppy knit beret, Frances Bean Cobain donned a more structured hat, and web celeb Cory Kennedy channeled Isabella Blow with a netted chapeau.

Courtney continues to look like she has kept her life in order recently as she enjoys taking her daughter Frances Bean to the premiere of Aquamarine in LA this weekend. I personally hate the leggings look, but the dress is kinda fun although she may be a bit too old to wear it. Courtney finally got some good news recently as she sold her NYC place.

Frances Bean Cobain
In her first interview, she tells Teen Vogue she's a girly-girl who prefers her mom as a "classy starlet" instead of the hard-metal stuff. I like her already.

Filled with anticipation of the workweek, Sunday night can easily fall short of a relaxing evening. So, to keep my thoughts at bay, I'm going to prepare the ultimate in comfort food: cassoulet, a pork and bean casserole that hails from southern France.
Traditional cassoulet can be heavy and time-intensive, but I've found one that's luscious yet light — and takes less than an hour to prepare.

It's an age-old question: is there a distinction between Cajun and Creole cooking — or are they really just the same thing?
The answer is somewhere in between. Creole cooking evolved out of the cosmopolitan culture of New Orleans, a city affected by the influx of international colonists who settled there after the Louisiana Purchase.

Since PartySugar and I have been infatuated with salads this Summer, I thought it would be appropriate to pay homage to the French national holiday today with a specialty native to the Côte D'Azur region of France.
Salade Niçoise, or Niçoise salad, originated in the town of Nice, and is made with boiled new potatoes, steamed haricots verts (baby green beans), boiled eggs, local olives, cured anchovies, and tomatoes, tossed in a Dijon mustard vinaigrette and topped with tuna. I selected a recipe that uses some classic ingredients, but also incorporates a few unconventional flourishes — like seared tuna and caperberries — for a current twist.

The new year represents a fresh start and we all look toward the future with hope. In the foods that folks traditionally eat on New Year's Day, health and prosperity come together in the form of beans and cabbage — two superfoods.
The circular shape of beans represents the cycle of a year ending as well as prosperity — the beans represent coins.
