Now that Summer's officially started, head to the picnic grounds and fire up the grill for some succulent pork burgers. If you've already got burger patties to transport, opt for an easy-to-pack fruit salad for dessert.
This versatile, naturally sweet salad makes the most of Summer's beloved fruits.

One of the ways my dad first introduced our family to fish was by serving it with a fresh fruit salsa. He would take a mild flaky fish, like mahi mahi or halibut, and top it with a mixture of pineapple, strawberries, and melon. This recipe applies the same technique to grilled salmon.

Couscous is quite possibly the world's quickest cooking grain. It takes literally five minutes to make — meaning it's an ideal ingredient for home cooks who are pressed for time. To create an entire meal with couscous, toss with sauteed vegetables, dried fruit, aromatic spices, and rotisserie chicken.

What child doesn't love fruit roll ups? There is something so satisfying about peeling the strip of chewy, sweetened fruit off a piece of sheer plastic. When I was younger, I never would have guessed that fruit roll ups could be homemade!

Strawberries and blueberries are in season now, so stock up and use them to make this delicious yogurt smoothie. The fruit adds natural sweetness, and the Greek yogurt makes it rich and creamy. I like to add almonds to my smoothies because not only do they add fiber and protein, but they give the smoothie an interesting slightly crunchy texture.

I'm finally getting around to paying my respects to National Panini Month, while also fulfilling a sandwich promise I made to myself not long ago. After being disappointed by The Sentinel's pork and fig sandwich that didn't actually contain figs, I pressed together this panino before fig season bids its sad farewell.
When I came up with the "fruit and nut" idea, I thought: this could be terrible.

When I was young, I generally thought of fruit salad as a salad composed entirely of fresh fruit. I have expanded my horizons and now realize that a fruit salad can include both vegetables (greens) and fruit in a delicious sweet yet savory balance. Pair whatever fruit is in season and looks best at the market with grilled meat, poultry or fish.

During a recent endeavor to make peach rice pudding popsicles, I loved the rice pudding so much (a good amount of it wound up in my stomach instead of the freezer!) that I decided it was time to make a batch.
Enter this rice pudding recipe, which highlights all the freshest Summer fruits. It's comfort food to the max, with a glutinous bite and creamy, vanilla undertones.

Now is the time to enjoy peaches, plums, and mangoes in all their delicious glory. Luscious, juicy, and ripe, stone fruit can become - with a little help from a few extra flavorings - a divine yet easy dessert. A fruit salad coated in a delicate ginger thyme syrup is light and surprisingly earthy.
