In his Hollywood directorial debut, Ricky Gervais takes us to an alternate universe where honesty makes the world go round. It's not just that lie-telling is an impossibility; everyone can't help but speak their minds at all times, no matter how personal, embarrassing, or brutal their innermost thoughts may be. The premise of The Invention of Lying is rife for comedy, but the film is also a commentary on religion and has its sad moments as well.

Chews us up and spits us out — that's all the Internet does these days. While sites such as ManBabies and Cat Ladies make a big show of decapitating and switching people's heads for fun, Om Nom Nom Nom hunts down and shows the hungry, abstract monster in every photo. Start looking and you'll notice that he's always lurking.

It's hard to believe that Mr. Belvedere was a popular show back in the day. It's also hard to believe he was the face of fun in the '80s. Where was I during all of this?

Or not. The following woman didn't know what she had coming when she entered this attraction at a local carnival. I always thought the name "fun house" was blatantly ironic (tell me, who's amused by looking at distorted reflections of themselves?), but now I know that's the case.

The following is footage from Monday's 2007 Coopers Hill Cheese Rolling. The description accompanying the video explains that "every year daring competitors throw themselves down an almost vertical hill [while] chasing an 8lb Double Gloucester Cheese log." Well, it's about time that hurling yourself down a hill chasing cheese is considered an acceptable form of fun!

We all know that breakfast cereals are a big money maker for food titans such as Kellog and General Mills. What is breakfast cereal, really? Some sugary corn by-product with a snazzy box and perhaps a prize for the kiddies.
