Making a tribute film after the death of an icon is a difficult undertaking — how do you do justice to his or her life without making it feel overblown? But the new Michael Jackson documentary, This Is It manages to strike that balance. The anticipation for its limited release has been building for more than a month now when early ticket purchases broke sales records, and most of you said you wanted to see the film as well.

Today's International Translation Day, so I figured what better way to celebrate it than to show someone mistranslating a song by simply sounding out the words, the hell with rhyme or reason! This Bulgarian Idol wants to sing Mariah Carey's cover of "I Can't Live (If Living Is Without You)," the actual lyrics be damned. Two points for chutzpah.

Scarlett Johansson joined musical collaborator Pete Yorn for a photo shoot in November's Glamour, which hits newsstands on October 6. You guys are loving the music they've created, but Scarlett opened up about more than their songs — she also discussed her one year of marriage with Ryan Reynolds and addressed a recent body image controversy. I don't know if the oldie but a goodie Geek Song makes me feel better or worse about being a geek. I do love my Atari, but I don't have that whole allergy thing down. However, I do enjoy the midi-like song and the moderately catchy beat, even if I'm not exactly the same kind of geek as these guys.

Just when Kanye West was defending "Single Ladies" as one of the best songs of all time, Glee swoops in with an entire episode dedicated to the tune. We've seen a ton of spoofs of the famous music video — Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg on Saturday Night Live, Joe Jonas — but I've gotta say that I think Kurt's version may be my favorite rendition so far.
This week was Kurt's magnum opus.

Last Sunday during the Primetime Emmy Awards, red carpet host Chris Harrison jokingly asked Flight of the Conchords duo Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement if they had any plans for a Flight of the Conchords debut on Rock Band.
A serious-sounding Bret leaned forward into the microphone and said, "We have three songs on the next Rock Band." A lot of people think he's joking, but I detected a note of seriousness.

Last night the stars came out in full force to attend the Primetime Emmy Awards in LA. Neil Patrick Harris certainly did an incredible job hosting the show and keeping the crowd entertained — did you enjoy his little song and dance opener? As soon as the festivities kicked off, Patrick was singing about TiVos, the Internet, high-definition televisions, and telephones, and then came his funny skit halfway through the show about watching TV shows on the Internet vs.
