You know, it says don't do it, but I did (forget about this song). I've been bringing you FABTV for hella long now, and there are just too many classic music vids to keep track of. Funny how so many of them are from the '80s, then again, that was the decade MTV was born. We've already giggled at the awesome dance scene from The Breakfast Club, but what about the signature song? I had a geek crush on the lead singer of Simple Minds, Jim Kerr, with his fluffy hair and high-waisted trousers. He was so Andrew McCarthy-esque . . .

You can't resist the cute funny dudes, and I don't blame you one bit. The results are in for GiggleSugar's best male stand-up comedian of 2008, and the honor goes to Demetri Martin! I am also a big fan his stand-up (for proof of his funny, give this vid a watch). Thumbs up, Demetri.

New Obama/McCain Jib Jab Movie! Funny, Funnier, or Feh?

Though hog-tied comics are bemoaning the excruciating difficulty of making jokes about the oh, so serious and sensitivity-requiring state of the election (hey, it's not working construction, jokesters) Jib Jab thinks they've found a way around the "how do we tell a joke like Obama" dilemma.

Looking like the 2004 Bush and Kerry This Land Is Your Land vid, the 2008 installment is set to Bob Dylan's Times They Are a-Changin'. Did they solve the Obama humor-vacuum by making him ride a unicorn? I don't know about you, but that's how he appears in my dreams, anyway. I question whether the format, which felt so fresh in 2004, has weathered the last four years - it feels a little Dean-y to me. And! Come on people, yes, JSM (or JMac, take your pick) is old. Old, old, old as the hills. We get it. Can we please find something else funny about him?

That said, this new version could rule because you can put yourself in it through the magic of Photoshop. Ooh! Put yourself in it and show us! Fun project!

Those viral marketing campaigns are getting more and more creative. Skype, a free video-call service, schemed up a way to get people to engage with their product, pay a giggle forward, and put the laughter-is-contagious theory to the test. It's called the laughter chain. The chain begins with a baby giggling, then jumps to a dude LOLing while watching an online vid of the baby giggling then moves to an older man chuckling (the best chuckle ever!) while watching the dude LOL, and so on. Have You Ever Been Rick Roll'd?

Have you ever opened an email or IM from a friend directing you to an "awesome" or "really funny" site, only to click on the link and find yourself rockin' out to a Rick Astley video on YouTube? You may begin thinking to yourself "This isn't really that funny or awesome," then you begin to wonder what happened to you. Wonder no more, my friend, you've just been "Rick Roll'd."

What is Rick Roll'd? Well, also known as "Rick Rolling" or "Rick N' Roll", Rick Rolling is an internet prank in which "roll-ers" disguise a link to a Rick Astley video on YouTube as another video or website (usually consisting of puppies, unconfirmed gaming news, fake presidential updates, or blogs with interesting or funny comments) to the the "roll-ee". Some think it's an attempt at a comeback, but personally, I can't think of a better prank than getting his highly infectious song to repeat in someone's head all day. And apparently, it's catching on. Rick's YouTube vid has had almost seven million hits since it was posted last year. This is definitely something my girl Giggle would appreciate, since it seems she's such a big fan!

Six-Word Memoirs: "Not Quite What I Was Planning . . ."

Folks were challenged to write a story in exactly six words. The response was overwhelming - 11,000 submissions later! - and a book of the entries is now sold in stores. Happy, sad, funny, mundane, regretful, grumpy, sarcastic, and blunt - the range of emotion in these quick tales is all over the map. I've got my contribution: "Nachos and cat vids: Any questions?" The mock safety vid below was made to look and sound like a real 1950s PSA, but it's really the work of Weird Al Yankovic- no surprise there. His "exclusive" interviews with high-profile celebs are always the product of excerpts extracted from other, more legit, interviews. They're totally fake, but always funny. The same applies here. Al reassembled clips from old educational films and made his own masterpiece to teach adults and children a very valuable lesson - ~~safety~~ humor comes first . . .

The Onion Is the Only Media Outlet Covering McCain

OK it's not entirely true, he was on CNN just this morning - but with all the Democratic obsession out there I couldn't resist this from The Onion. McCain is as tough as they come - I'm just relieved the fake news is finally reporting it!

I dare you to get the image of McCain and Obama, naked and dropped in the jungle out of your mind. Oh, man I would pay to see that match up. And now, apparently, the election has driven me to insanity. You saw it here first.

Um, and perhaps the best part of the vid? The tag at the end - KFC introduces $600 bucket of chicken as stimulus checks drop - it's funny cause it could totally happen. But with extra gravy/coleslaw that's so good it should be classified as a narcotic.
