Well, happy birthday, Gemini! This complex sign is known for its excellent communication skills and charming demeanor, so they're often surrounded by admirers. On the other hand, Geminis can flit from one extreme to another, showing two very different sides of their personality. (Think of Angelina Jolie's humanitarian interests and her still-present bad-girl streak.)

What works if you're a Gemini: Take a risk by wearing colors such as orange, yellow, and magenta. Neon nails are huge for Summer, so that's one way to go for a bold hue, but magenta can be surprisingly flattering if worn as a sheer cheek stain or lip gloss. This sign also rules the hands, so treat yourself to a sumptuous hand cream or manicure from time to time. Love It or Hate It? Richard Swanson Gemini Vase

This limited-edition Richard Swanson Gemini Vase ($770) nods to "the twins" Zodiac sign in smooth terracotta. I like the concept but not the execution. Even if it weren't a rare (only 22? am I reading that right?) and expensive piece, I don't think I'd buy it. What do you think?

It's Tuesday! I've already given you some picks to beef up your Netflix queue, but now it's time for your iPod. Check out today's new music releases for what you should download.

The birth of new sound: The latest from The Flaming Lips, Embryonic, is the musical equivalent of an acid trip. The band reportedly improvised a lot in the studio, so the entire album feels raw and pretty much all over the place. MGMT joins in on the track Worm Mountain, Karen O lends silly animal noises (yes, really) to I Can Be a Frog, and a mathematician spouts out equation, x=y type stuff on Gemini Syringes. Weird? You bet. Every track is experimental, which means you'll either embrace it for its free-spirited creativity, or write it off as too strange. Either way, it's worth checking out.

Pop culture candy: Hell has frozen over - Jack White is on the 90210 soundtrack. Hey, I'm not knocking TV music - I've already professed my love for it - but I was surprised to see The Raconteurs associated with a CW show. The band lends a wicked guitar riff to the first track Many Shades of Black (featuring soulful singer Adele) to start the album off. The rest of the playlist includes a mix of new offerings from indie artists and more mainstream pop, but my favorites are the sleepy Valium by MuteMath and the Postal Service-ish Sunburn by Owl City.

Bah-hum-blah: I was pumped when I heard that Bob Dylan was making a holiday album. It may be Halloween time now, but I always love a good carol, and Christmas in the Heart includes 15 of my favorites. But that's where my excitement ended. Dylan's voice will always be uniquely his, but the throaty quality seems out of place here, singing famous ditties like Here Comes Santa Claus. It's almost like your uncle had too many spiked ciders and started caroling. Even so, I'll probably still download I'll Be Home For Christmas or Winter Wonderland just so I'm not a total Scrooge - the proceeds go to the charity Feeding America.

NPH Readies His Balancing Act For the Emmy Stage

NPH reveals his passion for magic while also taking us through his unique career. We'll get a double dose of him next week since How I Met Your Mother returns on Monday - ICYMI, get a sneak peek here. In the magazine, NPH also talked about how he's navigated his way from being a young Hollywood star to openly gay in Hollywood. Plus, he has some sweet things to say about his longtime partner David Burtka. Here are highlights:

On his relationship with David: "We yin and yang very well. We’re both Geminis, but I, you can probably tell, I process what the options are, and figure out what to say, and he tends to just say what he is feeling. I’m just bowled over by him. He’s made my life exponentially more livable. He’s just-great. I’m his forever protector, and I’m happiest when he’s happy."
On being a child star: "I was a late bloomer, and when you’re a youngster, and you’re in the public, and people are recognizing you-it’s hard to behave normally. It was like a circus sideshow. You’d wear a hat and walk fast, because if someone recognized you, they’d shout your character’s name. And no one would come up-it was just like everyone was watching you, whatever you did."
On the decision to come out of the closet: "No one was ever old-school Hollywood, with a cigar in their mouth, saying 'You can’t do this, see! It’ll ruin your career, kid.' long as you’re representing yourself well, you’re making good choices for good reasons, all of the circumstantial things will vanish."
On being inspired by Danny from the Real World: New Orleans: "He was a unique entity at that time, as someone who was seemingly so confident in their own skin that they didn’t need to wear their sexuality, uh- Or to flaunt their sexuality? To be more of one thing or another. And I-it’s a personal thing, I suppose, but I personally responded to his lack of overt grandstanding. Again, tricky waters, because if I say something like ‘He didn’t wave flags,’ it sounds like I’m disrespecting people that do, who I think are tremendously important, but there’s more than one way to get into people’s psyches. Oh, he was very sexy, but everyone thought so. One wants to be sexy to everyone...As Barney, I get to make out with all sorts of girls. And I’m allowed to say that women are sexy and not have them say, 'That’s not true!' But I’m now in a really fun position, where I can tell a guy that he’s sexy, and most aren’t put off by that."

Maybe you're like me and you have an iTunes filled with thousands of songs and personalized playlists, but you're sick of your music and couldn't care less about listening to your library. Sites like Last.fm and Pandora offer great variety for a Gemini like myself, but once in a while you really need to mix it up - and by mixing it up, I mean by taking a trip down memory lane.

The site Songs You Used to Love may not have lengthy playlists for you to swoon over, but they do provide you with popular audio streams from the sixties up until just a few years ago. At first when I started clicking through the songs, I thought that the website was pulling from my library since it had all my favorite songs posted, but then I realized it is just that good.

Not the fanciest of sites, but guaranteed to get you rocking out in no time.
