It's not April Fool's, I have not started abusing substances, this is an actual news story: James Franco is set to guest star on daytime soap opera General Hospital.
Oh and it's not just some walk-on role as a favor or a dare: Franco will star in a multi-episode arc, which will last for about two months, and he'll play a "mysterious character" (of course he will). What's more, he apparently approached General Hospital himself with the idea.

"When you put it on...something happens." Yeah, you become a skinny white dude with permed hair and a porn stache--without the hipster irony. Anthony Geary put his "General Hospital" acting to good use in this commercial from 1982.

Julia Roberts flashed her signature smile yesterday while working on Eat, Pray, Love in Bali. She had good reason to look so happy, since her handsome costar Javier Bardem was also on the set. The duo suited up in hiking gear for an afternoon on a mountain, which seems like quite a contrast to their recent day of floating in the sea.

I can't wait to see James Franco head to General Hospital later this month, but if soaps aren't your thing then maybe today's news will be more up your alley. Franco is the latest actor to make an appearance on 30 Rock! He'll be playing himself, but the best part is that he'll be involved in a showmance with Jenna.

James Franco took a break from his studies to hit the stage Saturday during the New Yorker festival. The actor had a lots of expertise to share, from his dual degrees in writing and directing to his upcoming stint on General Hospital. James kept the good times rolling that evening with a cameo on SNL — he didn't say much, but make sure to check it out.

So, did you guys catch FlashForward this week? Even though I had already seen the pilot (OK, I saw it twice), I still tuned in to refresh my memory. No surprises here — I caught a few nuances that I had missed the first time around, and I can already tell that this may be the kind of show that requires a second viewing.
