Just take your cue from the lovely Brazilian ladies like Gisele Bundchen, Ana Beatriz Barros and Alessandra Ambrosio. Their base colour is brown, yet they have those sweet and succulent coveted honey tones that have tonnes of shine and healthy bounce.

Lightening up just a little bit is also much healthier than heavy bleaching. To ensure that hair remains in good condition, Hill always begins with scattered highlights and then adds a toner for shimmer. Last but not least, a deep conditioner is applied followed by heat to maximise the treatment. The result is a sexy, unstructured style that's fresh and modern for Summer.

Happening Hair: The Modern Half Up, Half Down

Here is a happening do that is a modern take on the old half up, half down style. This look is great for those of you with long layers or one solid length - so basically anyone, but you have to have some substantial length to pull this off. This is also a quick style for women on the go. It keeps your hair out of your eyes, but won't take it completely off of your face. Ultimately, this is a super sexy hair style, hence it being modeled here on some of the world's sexiest women. You can wear this hair on the third day of a blowout too, just as the crown is getting greasy. This look is also a great way to add volume to a round shaped face.

Choose a shampoo and conditioner with volumizing agents in it. I happen to really love Alterna's Life Volumizing Shampoo,, $17.10, as well as their Life Volumizing Conditioner, $18.30.
Blow dry hair and set with rollers for additional volume. If you want stick straight hair like Heidi Klum's hair shown above, then before blow drying add a drop of Phytodefrisant Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm to add shine, protect hair from heat and control frizz. Wait 20 minutes in the rollers for hair to set.
Gently take out the rollers and begin to lightly backcomb the crown of your hair. Then, smooth it over with a soft brush, I like the Mason Pearson all boar bristle brush. Keep in mind, don't tease your hair too much. You don't want to have extreme lift at the crown, just a little is perfect.
Next, secure just the middle section of the crown with a skinny barrette or two bobby pins. Overlap the pins so they create an "X". Smooth the rest of your hair.
Lastly, spray your entire head with a fine mist of hairspray to keep all of your hard work in place! A new hairspray that I've just discovered is called Masterpiece Massive Shine Hairspray by Tigi, $15.75. Try it and let me know what you think!

Gisele Bundchen Shows Her Baby Bump-ish...Not Really

Gisele Bundchen has been wearing more billowy shirts these days and now that we know she's pregnant can you make out an ever-so-slight baby bump under there? The supermodel headed into an appointment in Santa Monica yesterday giving us a little peek as she fiddled with her hair. Over the weekend Gisele and Tom Brady spent Father's Day playing with his son John and next year they'll have even more to celebrate. The rest of 2009 might be taken up more with preparing for baby than hitting the runway, but even the highest paid model in the world deserves a break from work to focus on her family.

The Costume Gala Delivers the Glitz and Glamour!

The Met's Costume Institute Gala did not disappoint last night in NYC, bringing us one of the most star-studded red carpets of the year. The theme was "Model as Muse," which apparently brought out some interesting fashion choices. Kate Moss and Marc Jacobs were two of the hosts and had all eyes on them when they arrived first and her outfit included a turban. Justin Timberlake was also the man of the evening with Jessica Biel on his arm.

Rihanna switched it up for her first red carpet appearance in months and still looked sexy in her dramatic menswear. Josh Jackson and Diane Kruger can do no wrong in our eyes so it was not a surprise that they're perfectly put together. Something must have gotten into the Gossip Girl ladies because they both went with bold choices - Blake slicked down her hair and showed off a long sexy slit while Leighton might have landed herself on a few worst dressed lists.

In case you missed it, Gisele Bundchen accessorized her hot dress with her new big diamond ring and hot husband. Plus I have to give a shout out to the Olsens who looked totally different but both great. Love Ashley's sexy open back dress. Celebs Get Creative At The Costume Institute Met Gala

Last night was a very starry night in New York, as celebs got all dressed up for the Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. There were outfits ranging from the classic to the costume-like, with the stars showing how daring they were with their clothing choices! Leighton Meester took a huge step away from the classic look of her character Blair Waldorf in her patterned outfit, Agyness Deyn rocked a silver dress with big hair, Kate Moss was dressed by Marc Jacobs in gold, Victoria Beckham showed off her pins, and Kate Bosworth went a little gothic in her number.

Madonna played up to her daring reputation in a surprising outfit, Emma Roberts went for a hip-extending sparkly red silhouette, while dashing men Joshua Jackson, Josh Hartnett and Ed Westwick all looked very handsome as they walked the red carpet.

Gisele Bundchen Shows Off Some Denim Basics

In another super revealing photo shoot, Gisele Bundchen stripped down to the bare minimum for the Fall issue of V Magazine. We knew these photos were coming - but wow, we didn't think it could get any steamier than her GQ spread. As hot as she looks on the cover, in the article Gisele assures us that it's just a role that she plays while also discussing fashion, success, and the rumors about her. Here are highlights:

On her personal style: "I work in fashion but I’m not really a fashion person. I don’t follow trends. I couldn’t tell you which designer made that shoe or that bag. I like jeans. I like comfortable clothes. I’m all for feeling good in what you wear. I don’t do shows anymore, so I don’t even know who is doing what now. I do my job, which is to make the clothes look like they’re supposed to, and to interpret what the photographer, designer, and stylist want in a picture."
On how modeling is playing a role: "Yes, look at these pictures. This is Gisele-as-a-super-sexy-punk-rocker-in-ripped-everything. Do you think I would ever wear that? I’m a tomboy and I’m a goofball. Never in my life would I wear anything close to those clothes. After the shoot I take the clothes off, go home, and do whatever I want. For me it’s just a job."
On her success: "I’m a fortunate person. This job has given me a lot of opportunities-I speak five languages, know half the world, meet very interesting people, and I’m 27 years old and financially independent. So I’m not going to spit on the plate that feeds me. When I go to a job people are relying on me. Everyone-from the hair person to the caterer to the stylist-is there to do a job, and if I screw it up I’m screwing up twenty people’s day. That’s not fair. Who am I to do that? I just do what is expected of me and become the persona they want. When I’m there I’m not Gisele-’cause believe me I have opinions about everything-I’m a canvas. I’ve accepted that."

On what people think of her: "People will always have an opinion. Some people look at me and say, 'I can’t believe this girl is even working. She should be a cleaning lady.' And then another will say I’m beautiful. If I’m too concerned that one thinks I’m not worth a penny or the other thinks I am, where does that leave me? At the end of the day, it’s about what those people think about themselves. That catwalk wasn’t about me."
On the rumors she hears about herself, like starring in the next Austin Powers movie: "Oh yes. And I’m the new Bond girl. And I have a clothing line with Dolce & Gabbana. I don’t know where they get this stuff. I called Domenico and Stefano and said, 'Where are my clothes, guys?' They laughed. Same thing with Austin Powers-none of it’s true. And I didn’t ask to be paid only in euros. There was something about me demanding to be paid in euros, which is false. Most of the time, I don’t even know what’s going on."

Gisele may be a self-proclaimed goofball, but it sounds like she's also got a feisty streak in her. Guess we shouldn't be surprised that a model who can pull off photos this hot has some fire in her personality, too.

Talking Soft and Natural Hair Color With Posh's Colorist

The other day, I had a chat with the ultrafriendly celeb colorist Johnny Ramirez, of the Chris McMillan Salon in Beverly Hills, about techniques and products he used for his high-profile client, Victoria Beckham. Ramirez, who trained under famed color guru Michael Canalé (of Jennifer Aniston caramel highlights fame), also talked about where he gets his inspiration, along with color trends for Fall. Here's what he had to say:

On his approach to hair color:

"I look at my 4-year-old daughter's hair. She's got Gisele [Bundchen]'s hair color. It's an illusion. It looks really, really blonde, but when you crack it open, it's dark blond underneath. It's so natural - she's born with it. So I take that (inspiration from my daughter) and do it on someone that's older."
"When someone comes back from vacation, and they have virgin hair (meaning they have no artificial hair color), I always look to see their hairline and how their hair around their face looks. I duplicate that. Sunkissed highlights around the face are so subtle. I'll do (bleached) tips at the bottom, too. . . and comb to blend. When you do this it creates the illusion of soft, beachy hair - like you've been hanging out at the beach all month."

Regarding trends for Fall:

"Soft and natural hair colors just make your skin glow like you were born with it. Soft and natural - you just can't go wrong with that. Anytime you go really light or too dark it just doesn't look right, so just keep it very soft."

Gisele Bundchen isn't a Victoria's Secret model anymore, but clearly her days of posing in her underwear are far from over. She stripped down to her skivvies and less for the GQ cover and sexy photo shoot featured in the July issue. While she's not afraid to show a lot of skin in her photos, she's more reserved about baring her soul in the article - but she does open up a little about her career, her reputation, and her relationship with Tom. Here are highlights:

On whether or not she has a "signature expression": "A photo is a story. Who will be this woman? Who will be wearing those sexy tops with boys’ underwear? I try to understand. Who is she? What kind of mood is she in? Like, whatever, I’m in my bedroom. I’m like, my boyf-"
On approaching men: "I’ve always been in serious relationships. I meet someone and date him for a long period. I don’t sit there thinking, like, 'I wonder if I can seduce that guy.' I have other things in my mind."
On the various rumors about her: "People are unbelievable. The other day a girl on my plane was pulling my hair. She was like, “I just want to check if-” This is all my hair, by the way. I did not have extensions, let me tell you."

On the reports that she's the highest paid model in the world: "Do you think that’s important to me? Look, this is my job. I take pictures. There is no big deal. I would like to know who this reporter is finding out all of these amounts. And I would like him to talk to my accountant and figure out where is the cash that’s missing. Because I haven’t seen it."
On telling the Boston Herald that Tom Brady is "not too shabby" back in 2005 when shown a photo of him: "Look, I’m Brazilian. I had never seen football before. I’m freezing, and all I’m thinking is, when can I go back to New York City? I didn’t understand why they were all hitting each other. Now I do, but I didn’t. I just wanted to get out of there, so I’m just gonna say what you say to get out of a conversation. If he had been any other guy, I would have said the same thing. We met through a friend who knew us both for a long time. Believe me, I didn’t even remember [the picture of Brady]. Our friend knew that we would like each other. And we did. So I guess he was right."
On her relationship with Tom "I think we have a lot of things in common, and I think he is a really great person. He really, genuinely doesn’t have a bad bone in his body. And he is a very positive person."

Seems like Gisele is a bit defensive about her status and relationships, but we can't blame her since she's got so much of her personal life in the media. Then again, a few things are hard to believe - like where all of that cash is going.
