From the runways onto department and drugstore shelves, I'm sure we'll see lots of fresh new makeup options and application techniques go full circle come March. Last month in New York, we saw six very wearable trends emerge, from peach lips to bold eyeliner to heavy-handed under-the-eye liners. But throughout the course of New York Fashion Week and other Spring 2010 shows, including Paris, London, and Milan, there were other looks that won't quite make the transition.

Paris Fashion Week is the creme de la creme of all fashion events. New York had its highlights; London wowed me with its revived schedule; and Milan is always beautiful, but Paris? Undeniably thrilling.

Just when I think we've covered every boot trend out there, a new one pops up. While doing my daily perusing on ShopStyle, I came upon an abundance of drawstring boots. This style is an ode to Captain Hook and other fashionable pirates, but with a modern twist.

Draping is a classic fashion technique — we can learn this from studying Madame Grès and the Romans. This classic has been rejiggered, reworked, revitalized for Fall. From dramatic Givenchy draping (left) to delicate Wu draping, I'm going to have to plan on a drape escape come cozy time.

I would give my right arm for a Givenchy Nightingale ($1,895). There's no other way to describe it than utter perfection. But considering the hefty price tag and the fact that I own a ton of black bags, I've learned to surrender my feelings.
