21 Hair and Makeup Looks You WON'T Be Wearing Come Spring

From the runways onto department and drugstore shelves, I'm sure we'll see lots of fresh new makeup options and application techniques go full circle come March. Last month in New York, we saw six very wearable trends emerge, from peach lips to bold eyeliner to heavy-handed under-the-eye liners. But throughout the course of New York Fashion Week and other Spring 2010 shows, including Paris, London, and Milan, there were other looks that won't quite make the transition. Take this sequin forehead heart-shaped applique, for instance - straight from the Ungaro show in Paris, for which Lindsay Lohan acted as artistic adviser. While I appreciate each and every designer's artistic flair, some looks just won't translate to real life. See what I mean now.

Just when I think we've covered every boot trend out there, a new one pops up. While doing my daily perusing on ShopStyle, I came upon an abundance of drawstring boots. This style is an ode to Captain Hook and other fashionable pirates, but with a modern twist. Notice how these sumptuous, structured Brian Atwood Matrix Boots ($1,170) illicit a casual, luxurious vibe. Aye, Mate!

Great Expectations at Paris Fashion Week

The most exciting week of fashion is upon us. Don't get me wrong - New York Fashion Week always inspires, but Paris just seems . . . magical. WWD offered a behind-the-scenes look at some of the fashion houses last-minute musings. I can already tell Isabel Marant will make us swoon all over again with hot-pink tunics and fringed and studded boots. Everyone's talking about Peter Copping's first collection for Nina Ricci (showing tonight). And the brilliant Viktor & Rolf are gonna go all Texas Chainsaw Massacre on a too-perfect gown. Can't wait? Neither can I!

Fab Finding Follow-Up: PartySugar's Birthday!

A couple weeks ago, PartySugar turned the big 2-8. To celebrate her big day, she hosted an outdoor dinner with a group of her closest friends. Fab Finding Follow-Up: Sayonara Brunch

Tear, a good friend of mine is moving to Japan this week. I'll miss her dearly, but I know she's in for a great adventure. To send her off with good memories, a group of us took her to a favorite eatery, Lime, for a sayonara brunch. I asked you to help me put together a cunningly cute outfit that included a jumpsuit. Remember this was just a brunch, so nothing super fancy.

I started you off with this Foley + Corinna Sling Bag ($450) because it was one of my must-have pieces in the look book. Let's see what you came up with!

The boot of the season is no doubt the over-the-knee, while wicked platforms and cutesie pumps rule, too. Heels got a lot of play - curved, pin straight, studded, wooden. The Look For Less: Givenchy Nightingale

I would give my right arm for a Givenchy Nightingale ($1,895). There's no other way to describe it than utter perfection. But considering the hefty price tag and the fact that I own a ton of black bags, I've learned to surrender my feelings. But recently, I came upon a very similar version, so I may not have to surrender after all . . .

It's no Nightingale, but this BCBGeneration Rembrandt Medium Satchel ($103, originally $138) is pretty darn close. It has the same satchel, cross-body straps, and shape. The only thing is, it has a zipper going across the center. It's actually not a bad detail. If you're as in love with the Nightingale but can't afford it, this is your best solution.
